SEDUCING THE PRINCESS by Diane Alberts: Book Review

A sexy category romance from Entangled’s Brazen imprint…

He’ll give her exactly what she needs…

Protecting a princess is not what former marine Gordon Waybrook signed up for when he joined the Shillings Agency. But instead of the spoiled, regal little creature he expects, Isabelle VanGuard is a fiery, sexy-as hell woman who’s been denied what she needs for too long. And he’s just the man to break through her frozen public facade and give it to her.

When she’s with Gordon, all Isabelle can think about is pleasure. Their blistering chemistry is immediate and intense, but volatile. In fact, the only thing they agree on is that their one night together is just that—one night. Even after it becomes more. But tempers and temptation can’t disguise reality. Isabelle is a princess, and a hot, hard, and tattooed bodyguard isn’t the Prince Charming her country expects…even if he’s exactly what she needs.

DAWN’S REVIEW

We have our BFOP, Dawn, here today to review SEDUCING THE PRINCESS.

This story takes us on a journey of a common American War Hero named Gordon. Due to his injury sustained over seas he was honorably discharged and is currently working as a security detail for a princess from Maleva, Isabelle.

Gordon is your all around American good guy. But he has some preconceived notions about this princess.

Once he meets her and spends time with her he feels this pull towards her. He knows it’s wrong but he feels it anyway. And I love that! So they sneak around because he feels he’s not good enough for her. Because he’s a common American and all that booshit.

As for Isabelle, she feels it too. Though she’s trying not to feel it because she has certain obligations as a princess. To help her country be successful. She tells Gordon a lot but also not too much.

She has this thing she has to do, in order to help her country. And as soon as Gordon finds out what this secret is, he calls off their romantic relationship.

They go through a lot of miscommunication. he wants her, she wants him. But they don’t listen to each other. Finally it’s time for the princess to go back home. And she leaves.

That is not the end. And I am not going to tell you how it ends either.

I will tell you this. . . It is not a cliffy.

Just trust me, read it!

DAWN’S REVIEW

Two Week Seduction:

Sooo, I liked the cutesiness of this book. It made me feel all girly inside. And I said “aww” a couple of times.

So in this book we meet Alea (love her) she’s vulnerable when it comes to the man she loves, yet strong enough to handle the people around her, all while still trying to make her family happy. While making her family happy, she kind of loses herself in the process. She’s got a career, but she’s convinced herself that she’s not happy with it.. because her parents want her to be doing something else.

Then there is John. Ohhh, John. Poor damaged John. The object of Alea’s obsession since she was 16. John didn’t have an ideal childhood, and joined the Air Force after high school with his best friend, which happens to be Alea’s brother.

When John comes home on leave to help his mother out, he runs into Alea. He tries to avoid her, thinking he isn’t good enough for her. But that all changes the night he see’s her out “letting her hair down”.

Let me just say after that, this book picked up for me. Mainly because of the sex. It was pretty hot. There is this one scene, where they’re.. and they … and BAM instafucking! It was great. I mean, I kind of knew that was going to happen, but it was still good. I mean, when John isn’t fighting his demons and second guessing everything he does with regards to Alea, you can totally see the love and admiration he has for her. You can almost see how he looks at her with that twinkle in his eye.

I totally think this could be made into an LMN movie. I’d totally watch it. I also like the way she told him she loved him. Pretty much put it in layman’s terms, like bitch slapped him with it. BAM.. BITCH I LOVE YOU. And if you can’t tell that I love you and how much then… well let me show you with my pimp slap.

And the end, it was cute. He say’s it back. They didn’t fuck, but they hinted about getting out of there so they could knock boots. The horizontal shuffle. Mattress mambo. Hop on a good foot and do the bad thing. Get jiggy with it (nah nah na na nah). Insert rod A into slot B….

You get the idea, I hope. If not you’re fucking stupid.

So, I will tell you this story is a quick read. I think I finished it in maybe 2 hours.. 3 at most. So, I’ll recommend you read the book. I mean, if you want a quick, LMN style, light and vanilla read… Then this is the book for you.

I’m outty! Love, peace and chicken grease!

DAWN’S REVIEW

Once upon a time, there was a princess named Regan and a handsome white knight named Brock. He has bestowed the bad boy slacker image on the universe. She has bestowed the successful business woman image on the universe. This is a common boy wants girl and girl wants the perfect man, who isn’t Brock.

Jusssst kidding… it’s a modern day romance. Complete with fucking, fighting, making up and who could forget the good old panic attacks?!

Anywho….

Ragan and Brock meet at their friends wedding shindig. Which includes a week long resort stay complete with fun activities including the wedding party. During that time they get to know each other and sparks fly even though she’s trying to get noticed by another man. A man who has no interest in her. As sparks fly and attractions build they find themselves doing the do.

Eventually, she realizes that the other man isn’t what she will want. She is a city girl and he is a outdoor type of man. She decides to give Brock a try. Test the relationship waters with him so to speak. While all this is going on she asks one of her friends to do a background check on both men. To you know… help her decision on what man is best for her. During this investigation, she finds something out about Brock that changes how she sees him.

Then drama ensues and they have a fight and go their separate ways. What I like most is the ending… because like any little princess wants, they lived happily ever after.

The End.

Actually, I really do like the ending because it was not traditional. No cliffy… just not a typical romance ending. Can’t really explain it or I’ll give it away. But think about it people…. you is smart!

AUTHOR INFO

New York Times & USA TODAY Bestselling Author

Katee Robert learned to tell stories at her grandpa’s knee. Her favorites then were the rather epic adventures of The Three Bears, but at age twelve she discovered romance novels and never looked back.

Though she dabbled in writing, life got in the way—as it often does—and she spent a few years traveling, living in both Philadelphia and Germany. In between traveling and raising her two wee ones, she had the crazy idea that she’d like to write a book and try to get published.

Her first novel was an epic fantasy that, God willing, will never see the light of day. From there, she dabbled in YA and horror, before finally finding speculative romance. Because, really, who wouldn’t want to write entire books about the smoking-hot relationships between two people?

She now spends her time—when not lost in Far Reach worlds—playing imaginary games with her wee ones, writing, ogling men, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
