SYNOPSIS
Danika hasn’t had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier.
One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given.
She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise. So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine?
For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating.

PEPPER & MICHELLE’S JOINT REVIEW
MICHELLE: I loved this book. Loved. It. Tristan Vega- you can take me and do whatever you want to me. Any day. Please.
Tristan is totally my type. Usually the book hotties are described as perfect bodies but not super huge. The fact that Tristan is built like a linebacker gave me many, many mini o’s. This is who I picture Mr. Vega as:
PEPPER: Oh my dear lord Michelle. I just lost all intelligent thoughts…
My thing with Tristan is this: He was so sweet throughout the entire book, even though he is considered a “bad boy”. He was so easy to fall for. I just loved him so much for the way he instantly took care of Danika. I about died when he said: “You feel so good, sweetheart. I swear nothing’s ever felt better in my whole fucking life.”
MICHELLE: I know, right?!
So, I loved Danika too. Sometimes I thought she was being a little unfair to Tristan but she had her trust issues and she also for a long time wasn’t sure where she stood with him so, I got it. And sometimes Tristan was a complete moron so it worked out.
PEPPER: Danika was a total kick ass chick. I fucking loved every minute of her. She was like the chick you want to hang out with because she gets along so well with guys. And not a slutty girl, just a chill girl that can hang with the boys. LOVE HER. I kind of want to do this to her:

MICHELLE: LOL! Yes! By the time they got together I was so invested in their relationship.
PEPPER: I know. This is why I loved the book so much. Because they were hilarious best friends. I mean there was the instantaneous attraction, but they just had an honest good time with each other. It wasn’t JUST about the lust. And I loved that. It’s like this:

MICHELLE: I did too. I think R. K. Lilley does an amazing job of writing her characters. I mean my feelings for all of the characters were very intense, Like I hated Dean. Hated him. But I loved Tristans brother in the same way Danika did. I basically felt like I was Danika and however she felt about a character- thats how I felt.
PEPPER: OMG! Yes!! I think it is because we are sassy, super honest, tell it like it is people, so we totally get her.
ps - Dean was a huge douche and I hope he gets his ass kicked in the next book.
MICHELLE: I know. Seriously.
PEPPER: I also loved Frankie the tattoo artist lesbian. Total bad ass.
MICHELLE: Yes. Frankie is awesome. I loved seeing her and Danika form a friendship.
I know we can’t give anything away but let me just say- I was a hot blubbering mess towards the end. I will say the book ends on a good note without a cliff hanger but you know shits about to get real with that preview for book 2!!
PEPPER: Oh God I know!!!
GAH! I cannot wait. It’s like:

On another note, can I just say that this is one of the hottest books in regard to sex that i have read!?
Like damn RK- girl has it going on.
MICHELLE: Pretty much. I def felt some tingling in my lady parts on more than one occassion. No lie.
PEPPER: Oh I had more than tingles. Like just thinking about super hot Tristan and super hot Danika having sex was like - um wheres my vibe? And I don’t get like that with a lot of books…
MICHELLE: Yes!! I mean it was way hot. Even before they had sex. Could their foreplay be any hotter??? I was like:
PEPPER: OMG!
The foreplay. fuck. me.
That scene when they are in the pool at the club!
MICHELLE: Yes!!!
PEPPER: So one of my favorite things in the entire book is when Danika says she knows she is getting drunk because she “feels pretty”. And I loved how all of the characters adopted that saying throughout the book. She was just so cute and funny.
MICHELLE: Very cute. I usually don’t think of the leading ladies as cute but Danika just is! I just loved everything about this couple.
PEPPER: And his nickname for her?!?!?!? It’s like:

MICHELLE: So there is one thing that I have to say was tough for me. A part of me almost wishes I had not read the Up In the Air series before reading this because of where it falls in the timeline. I feel like it makes the anticipation of the next books in Danika and Tristan’s story even worse. I might die from waiting. Seriously
PEPPER: I was actually feeling bad that I hadn’t read the series before because I thought I needed to. So I guess I am glad I didn’t. Even though I had read the synopsis and know who the steaming hot dude (Mr. Cavendish) is in UITA…And now I’m even more excited for that series because he is so effing hot.
OK, one more thing I loved was the comic relief. Like this was not a romcom by any means, but the banter and some of the stuff that was said was funny. AKA, Danika’s nickname for a certain bitch named Natalie - Twatalie… HILAR.
MICHELLE: I agree. It’s not easy to be funny in a book like this but she does a good job with it.
PEPPER: Amazeballs.

MICHELLE: I just have to say- R.K. has proven she’s a great author. I mean I already loved her writing but this was just amazing. Even if you haven’t read any of her other books, this book proves that she rocks. At the end of the day it takes a real talent to take the story of two people falling in love and truly make it interesting. I couldn’t put this book down and I was sad to see it end.
PEPPER: OMG I know! I was actually going to say that I know a book is good when 1) I can read in one sitting and 2) I mull it over afterward. I’ve read enough to know that when I think about characters and their story for more than a day or so, I am pretty hooked. So YAY! LOVED IT.
MICHELLE: So there you have it folks. Bad Things is AWESOME. So if you don’t have it yet, go get it and if you have it move it up your list and read it now!!!
R.K. Lilley has been a writer since she can remember, but has held down some interesting jobs to pay the bills. For several years she was a first class flight attendant, and she always swore that she just had to write a book about it. Mixing her love of romance and all things BDSM, the Up In the Air Trilogy is her debut into the world of contempary romance and erotica. She is currently working on the final installment in the series.
