Blog Tour & GIVEAWAY - JUST MY LUCK by Kelley Vitollo

SYNOPSIS

Her friend. Her boss. Her husband?

Betsy Harris has always known Jace Macnamara was off-limits. Not only is he a close friend, he also happens to be her boss—making him doubly forbidden. Betsy’s too timid to ever admit her crush, nor ‘fess up to the fact that she’s secretly drowning in her mother’s medical bills.

Jace just found out he needs a wife and needs one now. His childhood home—the last reminder he has of his deceased parents—can only become his if he gets married, but Jace, ever the playboy, never dreamed of settling down for real. Neither Betsy nor Jace wants to ruin their friendship when their fake marriage inevitably ends, so they vow to keep things light, professional, easy. But as Betsy comes out of her shell, Jace begins to see his “wife” for the beautiful, caring woman she is. Can he risk their past for a future together?

MICHELLE’S REVIEW OF JUST MY LUCK

I was so exited to get a chance to read and review this book. I love Kelley Vitollo/Nyrae Dawn. No matter what name she writes under I enjoy her books.

I think in order to really get why I liked this book, I have to tell you a little about my reading preferences. I started reading in the romance world because of Fifty Shades. I love sexy, hot, alpha males, lots of sex filled books. Hot. Love it.

However, in my voracious reading, I often came across very sweet romances and grew to love YA books as well. Now Just My Luck is not NA but it’s also not a smutty read. It’s just a sweet love story. And no matter how cynical I may be about love these days, I remain a hopeless romantic. I’m like:

There actually isn’t any sex here but there is a sweet romance. Two good people, really and truly good people, finding out that they belong together. I am in love with Jase. I mean he’s so damn sweet and considerate and I just swoon for him. And I like Betsy as well. She has a lot on her plate and she does what she has to do to survive and I love that.

I suppose you could say this book is predictable. You do get your HEA and you know on the path to get to that, there will be a lack of communication that leads to misunderstanding of epic proportions. But it works out somehow in the end.

This is the third in a series and while you don’t need to read all three ( I read the first but need to go back to the 2nd) it’s nice to know all of the characters.

If you want to read a book that will make you feel good about people and about love, I suggest this one. You might not have to bust out the battery operated boyfriend but if you’re like me, you’ll enjoy seeing love grow naturally and be a beautiful thing.

AUTHOR INFO

Kelley has been writing for as long as she can remember. She won her first writing contest in third grade for an essay she wrote on, “Tomorrow’s Leaders on the Move”. Like dreams sometimes do, they fell to the background for a while. She married her best friend, worked full time, and started her family. In 2004 Kelley, her husband and their new baby girl made a move from Oregon to Southern California and that’s when everything changed. As a stay-at-home mom for the first time, her passion for writing flared to life again.

Things haven’t been the same since.

With two incredible daughters, an awesome husband and her days spent writing what she loves, Kelley considers herself the luckiest girl in the world. She still resides in sunny Southern California, where she loves spending time with her family and sneaking away to the bookstore with her laptop.
