What an earl wants isn’t always what he gets…
British Billionaire and modern day earl of Spenserfield, Sebastian Romanov only wants one thing in life: To reclaim his position as president of Romanov Industries. But first he has to clean up his reputation to convince the Board that he’s a dependable bloke who’s willing to put the company above everything, including his personal life. Finally given an excuse to sort things out with his estranged twin brother, he boards a jet to Holland Springs, North Carolina, never dreaming he’d find the solution to his all his problems in the town’s sexy caterer, Daisy Barnes.
She’s going to serve him his just desserts…
Daisy Barnes, owner of The Sweet Spot, has plans. Plans that don’t include posing as some arrogant—yet sexy as hell—earl’s fiancée. But when unexpected insurance bills –to the tune of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars—from her mother’s unsuccessful battle with cancer come due, she’s forced to accept his offer and his money. Only problem for Daisy—underneath that cold exterior is a man that can set her on fire with just one touch.
As Sebastian and Daisy spend more time together, they find it harder and harder to not give into temptation. Soon neither can tell where the fake romance ends and true love begins…
PEPPER’S REVIEW
This book can definitely be read as a standalone, but because I am a tad of a neurotic, I really wished I would have read the other books in the series before this one. This is #4 in the series, and I really want to know more about the characters that came before it. So, for this reason, it took me a little bit longer than I anticipated to get into it.
THE BASICS:I really enjoyed this book. We have the standard “arse” of a man and a good woman to show him what love is, but there were some good twists along the way to break up the monotony of this formula we all know well.
THE MAIN PEEPS: Daisy is a quirky and hilarious American girl, who owns a bakery. She loves to cook and gives of herself to everyone she knows. She doesn’t have a lot of close family and I think she just wants someone to give all her love to. She is really funny and has so many good sarcastic remarks, especially to Sebastian.
“Go sodder yourself, Your Royal Pain in my Buttliness.”
She did not care that he was and earl and supposedly really important. She was like:

Basically, I loved Daisy so much. She was the perfect leading lady.
Sebastian is kind of a big deal in England. He is an earl, though possibly through shady means, and he is president to his family’s company. He has had a difficult childhood, with two a-hole parents. Thus making him a total dick. He pretty much doesn’t get along with anyone and doesn’t apologize for his dickish nature. He meets Daisy and all that changes. He shows her a different side to himself - sweet, caring, protective - something he is uncomfortable being with the rest of the world.
THE STEAM: Oh sweet baby Jesus. Marquita knows how to write a sex scene. My only complaint is that they need to last longer so that my purple vibe sessions last longer! Sebastian is an animal in bed and Daisy loves every minute of it. I was like:

Sebastian and Daisy were awesome together, in and out of the sheets. They had a great banter and I loved the dialouge between the two of them. Daisy says the following when she and Sebastian are discussing the terms of their arrangement (read synopsis for more info on that) - best line in the book:
“What about sex?” she blurted, her cheeks heating and her hand falling away. “I mean, you don’t expect sex. I mean, you’re not paying me for sex. I don’t have sex for money. Sex is free with me.” She couldn’t stop saying ‘sex’ and there was no one around to duct-tape her mouth shut. “But we’re not a real couple, so our sex would be fake sex.”
THE OTHER PEEPS: So there are a lot of supporting characters in this book. Which I believe is a good thing, especially if you have read the previous books. It appears that Marquita has brought a lot of the other characters back, which you know we all love when authors do that.
THE REAL BIZ: OK, I really liked this book. And I want to read all the back stories. I think this would help me gain a better appreciation for the town of Holland Springs. I loved the comic relief and the twists that added so much to the story. If you like book series with HEA, get this book - but you might want to check out the other books in the series first. AUTHOR INFO
New York Times Bestselling Author, MARQUITA VALENTINE, writes small town romances that are anything but small. Lisa Kleypas, Carly Phillips and Rachel Gibson are her favorite contemporary authors. Marquita met her husband aka Hot Builder at Sonic when they were in high school. She suggests this location to all of her single friends in search of a good man — and if that doesn’t work, they can console themselves with cheesy tatertots. She lives in North Carolina in a very, very small town with Hot Builder and their two children.
