About My Dear Hamilton: A Novel of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton (Coming 4.3.2018):

Wife, Widow, and Warrior in Alexander Hamilton’s Quest to Form a More Perfect Union

From the New York Times bestselling authors of America’s First Daughter comes the epic story of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton—a revolutionary woman who, like her new nation, struggled to define herself in the wake of war, betrayal, and tragedy. Haunting, moving, and beautifully written, Dray and Kamoie used thousands of letters and original sources to tell Eliza’s story as it’s never been told before—not just as the wronged wife at the center of a political sex scandal—but also as a founding mother who shaped an American legacy in her own right.

A general’s daughter…

Coming of age on the perilous frontier of revolutionary New York, Elizabeth Schuyler champions the fight for independence. And when she meets Alexander Hamilton, Washington’s penniless but passionate aide-de-camp, she’s captivated by the young officer’s charisma and brilliance. They fall in love, despite Hamilton’s bastard birth and the uncertainties of war.

A founding father’s wife…

But the union they create—in their marriage and the new nation—is far from perfect. From glittering inaugural balls to bloody street riots, the Hamiltons are at the center of it all—including the political treachery of America’s first sex scandal, which forces Eliza to struggle through heartbreak and betrayal to find forgiveness.

The last surviving light of the Revolution…

When a duel destroys Eliza’s hard-won peace, the grieving widow fights her husband’s enemies to preserve Alexander’s legacy. But long-buried secrets threaten everything Eliza believes about her marriage and her own legacy. Questioning her tireless devotion to the man and country that have broken her heart, she’s left with one last battle—to understand the flawed man she married and imperfect union he could never have created without her…

About THE IMPOSSIBLE VASTNESS OF US:

“I know how to watch my back. I’m the only one that ever has.”

India Maxwell hasn’t just moved across the country—she’s plummeted to the bottom rung of the social ladder. It’s taken years to cover the mess of her home life with a veneer of popularity. Now she’s living in one of Boston’s wealthiest neighborhoods with her mom’s fiancé and his daughter, Eloise. Thanks to her soon-to-be stepsister’s clique of friends, including Eloise’s gorgeous, arrogant boyfriend Finn, India feels like the one thing she hoped never to be seen as again: trash.

But India’s not alone in struggling to control the secrets of her past. Eloise and Finn, the school’s golden couple, aren’t all they seem to be. In fact, everyone’s life is infinitely more complex than it first appears. And as India grows closer to Finn and befriends Eloise, threatening the facades that hold them together, what’s left are truths that are brutal, beautiful, and big enough to change them forever…

MICHELLE’S REVIEW

Here’s a well known fact. I will read anything Samantha Young writes.

And when she announced her next release was YA- I was so excited because I personally love YA. But if that’s not your jam- this book might be able to change your mind. It’s written so well and even though the characters are young in age- their story sucks you in just like any other written by Samantha.

The story centers around our main character, India. India breaks my heart. Her struggles and challenges are many and substantial. And as she’s trying to rebuild herself from the ashes, she finds herself a part of an unlikely trio in Eloise and Finn.

What unfolds in this book is a web of secrets as we continually discover that everything isn’t what it seems. Eloise seems to have it all but as her secrets are revealed, well, just read the damn book. And Finn. Let’s just say that we all could have used this book in high school. It’s not always what it looks like on the outside- and being popular and being happy aren’t synonymous.

If you’re scared to pick this up because you aren’t into YA- I encourage you to push yourself and try. Samantha is not in the business of letting people down and I promise that she has once again created magic on the pages of this book. So go. Read it.

EXCERPT

“You’re a great photographer, Finn.”

He leaned against the counter by the sink, seeming surprised by the compliment. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.”

Silence stretched as we could do nothing but stare at each other, and my skin started to feel tight and hot, as if I was seconds from bursting out of it.

“Uh.” I stepped back, suddenly needing more space between us. “So we should probably arrange a time to meet up for the presentation. That’s if you’re not planning to stand me up.”

He frowned. “What are you talking about?”

“You said to meet you after school today even though you work at the Chronicle.”

“I don’t always come to the meetings. I only decided to come work here because you said we couldn’t meet,” he explained, and if I wasn’t mistaken he sounded a little annoyed.

“Oh.” I refused to feel guilty for thinking badly of him. Refused. “Okay. Well, we need to meet up some time soon.”

“Yeah.” He agreed, looking at his feet now.

“I’d suggest Theo’s but it might be distracting for you with Eloise there.”

Finn looked up at me. “Theo’s?”

Confused by the question I raised an eyebrow.

“You said ‘Theo’s.’ You didn’t say ‘my place.’”

“Because it isn’t.” It was my turn to cross my arms over my chest.

Sensing I wasn’t going to elaborate on my feelings about the house I was living in and the people I was living with, Finn eventually nodded. “Okay. My place, then. Tomorrow.”

Glad we’d finally organized a time but not so glad it meant spending more alone time with Finn, I just nodded and stepped back toward the door. “Okay. I’ll meet you out front after school.”

“Do you need a ride home tonight?”

I looked back at him, surprised by the offer, but not surprised to find him staring at his feet rather than at me. “Eloise’s director has upped her rehearsals so she’s still here, too. Gil’s picking us both up in an hour.” I would’ve thought he’d be fully aware of Eloise’s schedule.

“Right.” He straightened and turned his back on me.

There was something about it that was vulnerable. Something about him that was vulnerable. I was probably insane to even think that about him—this beautiful, rich boy—but he was getting to me.

Nobody got to me.

Crap.

“But thanks,” I found myself saying quietly.

He glanced over his shoulder. “You’re welcome,” he replied just as quietly.

Crap, crap.

My fingers slipped around the door handle as I tried to get out of there at superspeed.

MICHELLE’S REVIEW

Ok lovers- I know Kristen Ashley’s newest series is not for everyone but let me just say- I LOVE IT.

I don’t know- there is something so sinfully delicious about this BDSM world they live in.

This was the story of Evangeline and Branch. One thing I really liked about this story is that in book 1 (The Deep End) you learn a lot about the club, how it all works and some of the key players. You also meet both Evangeline and Branch but, especially where Evangeline is concerned, you don’t know much about why she is the way she is.

We know that Evangeline had some trauma that took her away from the club. What we learn is what exactly that trauma is and how Branch is wrapped up in Honey and all of it’s craziness. Evangeline needs to heal- needs to reclaim a part of her that her terrible ex-sub took from her. Branch needs healing on a whole different level and he doesn’t want it. But Evangeline breaks through his tough wall, piece by piece. And it is KA perfection.

Lovers- I do suggest you read both books but if you tried book 1 and weren’t into it, I highly suggest you give book 2 a whirl. In many ways- this book read more like a typical KA book. Branch may be a sub in bed but he is 100% kick ass, KA alpha male and I LOVED him.

Evangeline could easily be a rock chick. She’s strong and smart and witty and funny. She’s everything we love about the women Kristen Ashley creates. While we are still in the BDSM Honey club world- The Farthest Edge has a familiarity that we all crave in books by KA.

I absolutely fell in love with these characters, with the supporting cast and with the story in general and I think you will too.

EXCERPT

She sighed and began, “Aryas—“

“Get you don’t want to and won’t push it. Hope you do. Hope you get over it. Hope you come back to us and to you in all the ways you should do that. You can’t find that in you…” He shrugged but didn’t stop coming at her. “That’s the way it is. I can’t push that. You gotta find that in you. But connecting with you. Seeing where you’re at. Getting you to come back to the family. Taking your pulse is only part of why I asked you here. I also got another reason.”

Evangeline took another sip of her coffee before she asked, “And what’s that?”

“Got a sub for you.”

She blinked and her stomach pitched.

“Sorry?” she queried.

“Perfect for you. No strings. No boundaries. This guy is not looking to connect. He’s not looking for a relationship. Hell, sheer number of Dommes he goes through, you might only get one crack at him before he vanishes from your life. But at least you’ll get off the way you like it that one time. And if you can keep him around awhile, you might have some fun, break yourself back in, give yourself what you need, without any baggage.”

Um.

Whoa.

That all sounded way too good to be true.

But still.

“I’m not…I don’t think…” She swallowed. “I’m not ready for that, and to be honest, Ary, I’m not sure I’ll ever go back there.”

“Fool thing to think, more fool thing to do,” Aryas returned instantly. “Especially when you got a chance to have a go with this guy. You got a shot at a guy like this guy, you should take it. And I mean that for you. Only for you. For where you’re at. For what I suspect you need about now. He doesn’t want to hold hands. He doesn’t want to share a drink in the hunting ground. He doesn’t want you to give him your number or stake your claim on him in the club or anywhere. He wants you to get him off and he’s open to anything you wanna do to pull that off.”

He’s open to anything you wanna do to pull that off.

She fought squirming in her seat and it made her angry.

This was not a part of her life anymore.

And don’t miss the first standalone title in the Honey Series,

THE DEEP END!

About Kristen Ashley:

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorizeand she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing’s changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.
