Book #3 of the Consequences Series

There were still lessons to learn and consequences for the truth!
When Claire Nichols met Anthony Rawlings, she didn’t know they had a past, or that he had plans for her future. Over time, the role of teacher changed—games became reality—and domination turned to desire. Despite an insurmountable history, Claire and Tony found their way back to one another.

Just when they seemed to have it all—love, respect, and the promise of a family—the game master exposed the truth. Claire’s world once again spun out of control. Unwilling to allow her child to suffer the consequences of an old vendetta, Claire fled…

At one time, Claire was held captive in an opulent mansion—then her incarceration was a cell inside a state penitentiary. Was her new prison—a tropical island—truly less lonely? Perhaps that was the game master’s plan, all along?

Who will save Claire from her oldest nightmare and her newest reality? Will it be Tony? Can he forgive her for leaving him—again? Harry? Will he utilize previously unknown connections to save the woman who infiltrates his thoughts? Maybe Phil? Will his devotion in keeping Claire and her child safe be rewarded?

As the cards are played—sins of the past, innocent victims, and truths are revealed. With compartmentalization no longer an option, is the reality too much? Could there be an even worse isolation?

With the game master dealing from a stacked deck, can this new high-stakes game possibly be won?

When it’s all over and their cards are on the table—SOME will discover their bets were too high—they have nothing left to lose—ALL will learn the crucial lesson—the most important rule—there are CONSEQUENCES for the TRUTH!

PEPPER & MICHELLE’S JOINT REVIEW

PEPPER: I LOVED this book
Just saying. It’s my favorite of the series for sure.

MICHELLE: It was amazing. I am floored by how creative Aleatha is. She’s a fucking genius.

PEPPER: I mean there is so much in this book, it really was hard to put down. But at the same time, I had to take breaks because of the intensity of the material.

MICHELLE: Yes this definitely took me the longest to read of the three books. For one thing the way it was written took you between past and present and that alone caused me to need breaks.
But it was brilliant.

PEPPER: I know. I mean throuhgout the entire book, I was like - Oh I totally know where she is going with this, and BAM!! I couldn’t have been more wrong. I just could never say ENOUGH how mother hugging creative ARomig is. It’s so unreal.
God, I just can’t.

MICHELLE: I know. So we really can’t say much about the plot without giving things away so I think the best thing we can give you is our thoughts on our major characters in the finale of this amazing series.

So starting with Claire. I already loved her after Truth. In Consequences I wasn’t sure but in Truth I loved her. In Convicted I was like:

PEPPER: I really went back and forth with Claire in this book.

At times I was totally with you on the girl crush, but at other times I was like, good God, can you even breathe without Tony? And then at the same time again, I was like, God that’s hot.
I totally wavered with my feelings for her.

MICHELLE: I can see that but I think she did an amazing job of holding her own and doing what she had to do to protect herself and her child. I thought it was normal for her to have conflicting emotions about Tony - because basically in this book it was like:

PEPPER: So true!!! Remember I kept texting you and saying, “Dude, should Claire be trusting so and so?” Every other second. It was crazy!

MICHELLE: I know. Amazing.
So we’ll get to Tony but I have to talk about Harry. I admit I was kind of team Harry in Truth but once again Aleatha just turns my world upside down and I found myself feeling like I didn’t even KNOW Harry anymore.

PEPPER: OMG
I. Know.
Literally, in one of the first chapters I was like, wait did I read that right? And, again, I almost contacted you, but I was like, OMG calm down. You just started this, play it out. But for sure, Harry rocked my world a few times in this book!

MICHELLE: I mean it was just too much. I literally went from rooting for him to just not liking him at all. But all the men in this book were a little cray cray in their own way. If I was Claire I would have been like:

PEPPER: WHAT?? What are you talking about?
Tony?
Mother Effer!
I wanted to be Claire so much.
God I loved him.

MICHELLE: OK maybe that just applies to Harry.

PEPPER: Well, what about Phil? And I do agree on the above GIF, even a few times I was like, good God does Claire have a golden vag?

MICHELLE: Oh I agree. I loved Tony in this book. He still managed to make me want to throttle him a couple times. But overall he was at his best in this book and I finally was all in with him.

Yea I didn’t know what to feel about Phil until the bitter end. Seriously- Aleatha turned me into a paranoid crazy person.

PEPPER: In a weird casting question - can you see Phil as Bruce Willis? Cuz that is who I picture. And it made me love him so much more.

MICHELLE: I could totally go for that. A lot of people see Anderson Cooper but I don’t see it. Bruce I do see. Hot.

PEPPER: OMG! NO! This:

With gray hair.

MICHELLE: Yup!
So some side characters that I thought had a pretty significant role was Meredith and Emily. I fell in love with Meredith and I didn’t expect that.
But Emily. I just was like:

the whole time.

PEPPER: I wanted to make out with Meredith so hard.
And for Emily- OMG yes! I totally texted you like 3 times throughout the book saying WTF is going on with Emily. I wanted to crotch punt her so bad. GOD, just thinking about it makes me SO MAD.
P.S. your gifs are making me wet right now.

MICHELLE: I know. And to be honest. I never really liked her ever but at this point I was OVER IT.
And thanks bestie- glad you like the gifs. Aleatha makes me feel so may emotions.

So- again- since we can’t give too much away I have to tread lightly on this last character. But Catherine. I can’t even put into words my emotions for her. So I will express myself through gif:

and:

PEPPER: Yes! I also see:

Like CA - RA - ZEE!

MICHELLE: Well I can’t say much more without just spoiling the whole thing. Is there anything else you feel we need to share?

PEPPER: Just that if you haven’t read this book, do it. NOW. It’s such a great ending of the series. And I cannot wait for what Aleatha is working on currently. I hope to see some stuff in Tony’s POV - that will be amazing!!

MICHELLE: Yes! Go now grab it!!
Sure you’ll spend a lot of your time feeling like:

and most of your time being like:

But it’s totally worth it. We promise.

  1. Ah! I’m at 65% right now on this one! I had to take a mental moment and stop to read another book because the anxiety of reading this one was getting to me. I felt like this series was taking over my life because I’d read the books back-to-back.
