PEPPER & MICHELLE’S JOINT REVIEW

MICHELLE: I can’t even stand how obsessed I am with Linda Kage now. I mean seriously- if she would just stop being AMAZING, I wouldn’t have to be totally in love with her.

PEPPER: I know. I can’t with how much I loved this book. Or how much I love LKage. It’s like:

I think part of me is super irritated that it took me this long to find her books. She is so god damn good.

MICHELLE: I know! So you all know we loved Price of a Kiss (review HERE). So of course I expected to love Fighting Fate. And I did. Totally.

The premise was beyond anything I had ever seen before. So damn creative. I was like:

PEPPER: God, it really was so genius. When I read the synopsis, I was like, how is she going to make me want these two to fall in love - and she did. HARD. Like more than any two book characters. Ever. It was crazy.

MICHELLE: Right? Paige (p.s. Pay Day is the cutest nickname ever) and Logan are beyond being an unlikely couple. We are talking totally forbidden. And so naturally I want them together so damn bad. And what’s amazing is we have to wait a LONG ASS TIME. And I don’t even care.

PEPPER: OMG. I know, we had to wait what felt like FOREVER for them to happen. But it had to be that way. And it was seamless. But the whole time I was like:

MICHELLE: I seriously read the first 11 chapters of this book getting ready for work because I could not put it down. It was like I needed this book to survive or something.

PEPPER: I agree times 1 billion. I rarely read a book in a day. But I couldn’t put it down. So. Good.

MICHELLE: So one reason I really love Linda’s writing is because she doesn’t make you wait to long to find out what all the mystery is. We know exactly what the deal is with Paige and Logan and we learn pretty quickly about all their demons. So all we really have to deal with is what happens between them and honestly- that’s what we care about.

PEPPER: Yes! She really gives us what we want right out of the gate. And then we spend the next 4 hours sitting curled up hugging a god damn pillow on the couch looking like this:

MICHELLE: Lol! So, Logan is so damn broken. My heart literally was aching during this book. And Paige is just amazing. How someone can be strong despite all the shit that gets thrown at her. I don’t know how she does it. I am seriously in love with both of these characters. Whenever I think about them- I’m like:

PEPPER: Oh. My. Good. Lord. NEVER have I died inside for two characters as I did with Logan & Paige. I cried. Until things got happy, I was so damn devastated for both of them. It was like watching this for the first time all over again:

And this:

MICHELLE: So I have to say, usually angst stresses me out. And this had to be one of the most angst filled books ever. But I loved it. LOVED. IT. I seriously was like- how can she throw any more angst into this story. But she did. And she does it SO WELL. God. I am a unable to form words I just love this book so much. I need more. More of Logan and Paige, more Linda. More of it all.

PEPPER: See, for me I didn’t feel angst - you know that anxiety feeling you get with books. I really just felt so so bad for these two. I guess I would say, I was more sad then angsty (however, not depressing). I don’t know how to explain it either- I just had so much empathy for the both of them. I wanted them to be happy so bad. I can’t say enough how much I really cared about these two characters.

And when this happens:

I. DIED.

MICHELLE: Oh God, I know. It was the best.

PEPPER: So, I honestly could talk to you forever about this book. And probably will(later). Because we haven’t stopped discussing our love of Price of a Kiss. But, we have to end this review sometime ;) I will just say, this book is a tear jerker. But never have you been more happy for two people to find each other. So don’t let the words “angst” and “sadness” deter you if you don’t do those kinds of books. Whoever you are, whatever you read, you need this book. And this author in your life.
Honestly.
It will change you.

MICHELLE: Totally agree! I thought it was amazing. Read it. Now.
