Blog Tour: Review - FAR TOO TEMPTING by Lauren Blakely

SYNOPSIS

Jane Black has written the breakup album of the century, earning her a Grammy, a huge legion of new fans, and the pressure to repeat her success. Sure, the heartbreak from her husband’s unconventional abandonment might have been her inspiration, but it hasn’t done her any favors in the dating department. So when Matthew Harrigan, the toughest music journalist out there, asks for an interview, Jane agrees—as long as her personal life is completely off-limits.

British, gorgeous, and way too tempting, Matthew’s the first guy Jane’s been attracted to since her husband. As she spends more time with him and their relationship heats up, though, so does her writer’s block. How can the queen of the break up pen the perfect follow-up when she’s seriously in love?

MICHELLE’S REVIEW
I love Lauren Blakely. I always read her novels and end up feeling really good about the characters and the story in the end. Like warm and fuzzy all over. Far Too Tempting was a perfect love story and I have to add that I loved the twist of the female star and male journalist.
Jane Black is a singer that just made it big after two failed albums. Her success comes in the form of a break up album.
Janes husband leaves her and the reason is way different than your typical romance novel douche bag ex boyfriend or husband. I won’t spoil it for you but I will say at first I thought her anger was misplaced. The reason he leaves her is something that I’ve always said is the only reason I could let a man leave me it hour killing him soat first I was like:

BUT as we dive further into her head I admit that I started to see where the pain came from and I really felt for her. In fact some of her interactions with her ex and her emotions afterwards had me feeling like:

And then there is Matthew. Sexy British Matthew. So Matthew is described saying “His dark hair falls deliciously on his forehead, and he has the most mesmerizing blue eyes.”

And you all know who I was picturing the whole time right????

Yup. PIcturing David Gandy having sex just really turns things up for me.

Anyways….
So Matthew is swoon worthy for sure. Not super Alpha but way sexy and I LOVE his passion. For his job, for Jane, for music. Whatever it is this man breathes passion.

Their relationship is basically forbidden because Matthew is doing a feature story in his magazine about Jane. But lucky for us they find a way to make it work.

The sex is hot. I love that Jane is rediscovering her sexuality but she’s not weird or shy about it. She just owns it and embraces it. And Matthew really is a British sex god. Nom nom.

The problem is, happy Jane can’t write any music. And she needs to deliver on this album. She has pressure from her label of course but Matthew’s article sort of depends on her writing something so he’s also pushing her as well. It’s an interesting dynamic. You kind of go through the book thinking that Jane’s writers block is eventually going to tear them apart. The author really throws you for a loop on the relationship drama piece.

I love the mature way they end up working through everything and most importantly I felt like we got our HEA and the ending was great!

Supporting characters were great and fun but they didn’t steal the show. Really you got to focus on Jane and Matthew and if was perfect! Another great book for Lauren Blakely.

Oh and here’s one more for the road:
