Note to reader: You must read THE SAPPHIRE AFFAIR (Read my review HERE) first as this is book 2 in a two part series.
So lovers. Here we have the continuation of Steph and Jake’s story. When we left them- Steph is convinced that Jake is playing her for a fool and Jake is just crazy for Steph. While Jake does his best to convince Steph that he’s worth trusting, Steph has to prove to Jake that her feelings are real and that she does trust him- so much that it scares her!
While they work out the kinks in their relationship, the mystery around who is stealing the jewels continues. Steph’s step dad Eli and his new wife are still the prime suspects but there seem to be a lot more people involved.
While Steph struggles with the conflict of the love she has for the man who raised her and the truth of the person he might really be, Jake is busy trying to not only solve the case but figure out his feelings for this woman who is constantly knocking him on his ass.
While I will admit this is not my favorite series from Lauren Blakely- it is really fun and sexy in her traditional style. The story keeps you guessing until the end and the chemistry between Jake and Steph make for a really sexy journey!
