MICHELLE: Freaking finally- we have the conclusion to Madame X’s story!
Now, I knew exactly who I wanted Isabelle to end up with.
PEPPER: Really? Throughout this series I have been torn, to be honest, on who Isabelle should end up with. I don’t know if it’s because I have stockholm syndrome from Caleb or because I always thought Logan was too good to be true and hiding something. I think the best part in this book is where Isabelle decides for herself and helps the reader see why she chooses the man she does.
MICHELLE: Agreed. I mean it took Caleb 3 damn books to tell her the truth. And I have to admit- I was even starting to feel a little conflicted as the truth came out. Realizing he loved her more than I thought, but his way of showing it was so freaking twisted!!!
PEPPER: I know!! I was fist pumping when she was yelling at him, like yeah you did all this stuff for me, saved me, stayed with me, etc - but you also abused me and treated me like a whore and that is not love. I think Jasinda did such an amazing job at taking us down that rabbit hole for a minute. Like Caleb explains where he came from (tears) and how he ended up with Isabelle and for a split second you’re like, OK, maybe they should be together. But then we are (thankfully) reminded that he was SO fucked up that he had no way of knowing how to love her properly. I had a strange sadness for Caleb. This is why Jasinda is so damn good. She was able to get me to actually care for this lunatic.
MICHELLE: Exactly. BUT I still was scared because we’re on the outside looking in. I couldn’t imagine what Isabelle was feeling when all the truths were revealed. Like maybe she made the wrong choice. And I sometimes worried she liked Logan but had so much guilt around him. I was happy to see their relationships continue to grow.
PEPPER: Now Logan. Dear God in heaven, where are the Logan’s in life? I don’t know why but I have this sexy lumbersexual guy in my head for Logan. Like…
perhaps it’s because of Logan aka Wolverine:
in any case, completely flawless sex god of lumbar in my mind. He really was all around amazing though. He had some serious shit happen to him and he just kept on saying life is ok, it’s what you make of it. He was such a perfect hero that I had suspicions of him for the longest time. It took that terrible accident for me to realize that he was in it for Isabelle. And he was utter perfection throughout this entire book.
MICHELLE: I felt the same way- up to very end. Like how can this man be so perfect. What is he hiding?? But he ultimately is a good guy. I still think he has his secrets- evident by that ending (OMG!!) but I think he really loves Isabelle for who she is.
PEPPER: I’m so glad that Isabelle finally got some footing in this book. Her back and forth drove me to drink in book 2 - however as I’ve noted I was back and forth as well. She finally decided who she was going to be with and it made her love story SO damn sweet and magical.
I absolutely loved this series. Jasinda Wilder is seriously amazing. I’m wowed by everything she writes because there’s so much diversity in her different series. I’m just in lesbians with her. And this series is a must read!! Top of 2016 for me!
MICHELLE: For sure. And now that all 3 books are out and the series is over- you have no excuse but to pick up all the books and dive into the world of Madame X!
