ThiefNote to Self

Love is patient; love is kind.
Love doesn’t boast or brag.
There’s no arrogance in love;
it’s never rude, crude, or indecent-it’s not self absorbed.
Love isn’t easily upset.
Love doesn’t tally wrongs.
Love trusts, hopes, and endures no matter what.
Love will never become obsolete.
I’ll fight for her.

Thief

Caleb Drake never got over his first love. Not when he got married. Not when she got married. When life suddenly comes full circle Caleb must decide how how far he is willing to go to get the aloof and alluring Olivia Kaspen back. But for every action in life there is a consequence, and soon Caleb finds out that sometimes love comes at an unbearably high price.

PEPPER & MICHELLE’S JOINT REVIEW

Thief is the third and final installment of the Love Me With Lies series. You MUST read book 1 and 2 first and we promise you won’t regret it!

MICHELLE: Gah! So after reading The Oppourtunist and Dirty Red, I was DYING for Caleb’s POV. There were so many places in their past where I was dying to know what really happened or what was in Caleb’s head.

PEPPER: I. KNOW. I loved the concept of this whole series. LOVED.

MICHELLE: Seriously, when it comes to writing style, Tarryn Fisher blew me away. This whole series was just so creative. Like nothing I have read before.

PEPPER: Amazing writing. It’s so refreshing to have not only a great story, but genuinely good writing to go along with it. Sometimes you get one but not the other.

MICHELLE: It’s true.

So we all know that Olivia and Caleb belong together. But how?? Caleb is married to the wicked witch of the west aka Leah and Olivia has Noah. And I actually have no issue with Noah but he’s not Caleb. And we all know that those two belong together

But sweet Jesus- the road to their HEA (which I’ll get to later) was so damn stressful
I was basically like:

The. Entire. Time.

PEPPER: God, I know. Like I literally burst into tears:

after Olivia’s book - THE OPPORTUNIST - and just never stopped through the series. Heart. Wrenching. That is their entire story.
Heart.
Fucking.
Wrenching.

MICHELLE: Exactly. But now that we are in Caleb’s head I just want to be like - forget everything Olivia and run to your man. Run to Caleb!!!

But she is trying so hard to live the life she THINKS she’s supposed to live and running away from how she feels about Caleb and I want to be like:

PEPPER: Jesus, I know.
Yea, I couldn’t take it. I got to about 60% and I was like, my GOD, Stop It. Just. Stop. It. LOVE HIM!!!

MICHELLE: I know. God I know.

But Caleb wasn’t perfect- I mean almost. It was just that he was over it. He was over not having Olivia and Olivia was still just so scared and I just needed them together.

So- there isn”t much we can say about the story itself, because we can’t spoil it for those that may not have read it. But as we said earlier, the style is brilliant just like the first two books. We get to see a few things from the past from Caleb’s point of view and basically all of the questions that came up in the other books are answered here.

But before we end this, I want to just touch on the epilogue.

PEPPER: Yes, please.

MICHELLE: It’s basically like they get the closest thing to a HEA those two are ever going to get.

PEPPER: Which sucked my balls.
Hard.
BUT - only at first.

So, I immediately put the book down and was like:

because, I needed them to have something as ridiculous as a wedding at the Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland.

But then, because this series is fucking amazing, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it (and let’s be honest, talking it through with you bestie) I have decided that the ending was pretty perfect. It’s exactly what they needed. No more drama. I loved it.

MICHELLE: I thought it was Cinderella- oh that’s Disney World. Anyways…

I agree. I also initially wanted the full blown HEA. It’s like after all I have been through??? I mean all they have been through. Them. Not me.

And part of you wants to be so mad at Tarryn Fisher and at life in general but then you realize that this ending is the most realistic way to go.

And also I can see Ms. Fisher being like:

But then you realize- this fits.

PEPPER: Yes, yes, I agree. I’m pretty sure TFish was like, suck on this.

So, because I live in a fairy tale where I honestly believe in unicorns, I will secretly dream that they had the Disney wedding.
On a cloud.
In a rainbow.

But in real life, I am totally happy with how things ended for these two. Jesus, I am just glad they did it.

Nevertheless, No matter how mother hugging long it took, I LOVED this series.

One of my fav series of the year for sure.

MICHELLE: Yes definitely!! It’s amazing and original and just so damn good.

PEPPER: I would like to say, if you haven’t picked any of these books up yet - you need to add it to the top of your TBR. It’s different then what we normally see, very well written, and has amazing and utterly fucked up characters. So. Good.

MICHELLE: Couldn’t have said it better myself bestie.

At the end of Thief, Tarryn has the first chapter of the book Thou Shalt Not by J.J Rossum. This book is not yet released but Tarryn has said some wonderful things about it. So we are sharing the love for this up and coming author!

Coming Fall 2013

Luke Harper was finally starting to settle into his life - a life that had previously been full of more heartbreak and pain than most people ever experienced. He had a job he loved, and was blissfully content in his on-again, off-again relationship with the striking, and highly sexual, Holly. But, life throws Luke another curveball with the arrival of the alluring April, a woman stuck in a tumultuous, violent marriage to a famous athlete. Luke soon finds himself torn between what is safe, familiar, and right, and what is dangerous, unknown, and forbidden.

EXCERPT - THOU SHALL NOT

Classes may have started but that didn’t keep us from communicating. I felt a little childish for basically texting her as soon as I sat down at my desk.

Wharton…

I figured I could judge by the amount of time it would take her to answer whether or not she was looking the author up. Even if she had read it, if she took a while I would just assume so and hold it against her.

Her response was immediate.

I thought we already discussed you asking me about Pulitzer winners? ;-)

Dammit. Age of Innocence.

I needed someone who hadn’t received any significant awards.

Time for a curveball.

Collins.

Who?” she asked. Then followed with, Jackie Collins? Do you take me for a reader of trashy novels?

No, not Jackie. Suzanne.

I’m not familiar with that name.

This time I was shocked.

If you tell the students that, they might lynch you.

Why? What did she write?

Oh, just this little series about games. And hunger.

Huh?

The Hunger Games!

Oh God. I think I knew that.

And you haven’t read the series??

No sir…you can’t judge me for not reading a book written for teenagers.

Sure I can, if you are working with teenagers. Which you are!

Well, that didn’t happen until just recently! Are you giving them your seal of approval?

How should I know? You think I’ve read them?? ;-)

God, you’re such an ass. Stick with classics, Luke!

The bell chimed to let the students into the building.
