JASINDA!!! Why do you like making me cry so much!!

So I spent the majority of this book in tears. This book will probably won’t do much for you if you have not read FALLING INTO YOU. Also, if you have not read the FALLING series- you might have to reconsider all of your life choices because it is one of my favorite series of all time.

This book is all about Colton (Colt) before we meet him in FALLING INTO YOU. When Colt leaves Michigan and runs off to New York, no one really knows what happened there. Nell learns some of his life and therefore we do too in FALLING INTO YOU. However, beyond a few pieces of his past- we never had a chance to really dive into Colt’s head- until now.

This book is really heartbreaking in a lot of ways. The pain the Colt feels from the rejection of his parents- particularly his dad- is one of the most heartbreaking things I have ever read. I really felt Colt’s pain. And then the hardships this young man- practically a child- goes through moving to NYC and trying to survive. We find out more about his first love, India and what that felt like. It was equal parts beautiful and gut wrenching.

We also get to see a little bit of what went through Colt’s head when he returns to Michigan and sees Nell again. And let me tell you- it will make you want to reread FALLING INTO YOU - IMMEDIATELY!!

Jasinda committed to this book in a way that I don’t see often. Colt is rough and the way he speaks is like a street kid- because he was one. You have to read this knowing that you are reading Colt’s mind essentially.

It was a beautiful book, packed with that chemistry that Jasinda writes so well and that kind of emotional writing that really wrecks you and brings you to your knees. Fans of the FALLING series- get ready to fall in love with Colt all over again.
