Ok so I have to admit that this book was hard for me at times. I loved Slade at the end of Undescribable and I knew Samantha got my nerves so I went into this book knowing she might continue to do so.
I think what really bothers me is that these two do not communicate AT ALL. Slade is kind of back to Alpha male mode and he doesn’t let Samantha finish a thought but he also doesn’t really tell her how he is feeling. And of course she is even worse.
So the first half of the book was dragging for me because I was so damn frustrated with them. And then when Tate entered the picture I was just worried. Because I just didn’t know what his real deal was. Of course the author totally shocked the hell out of me at the end. I was like:
But I’m getting ahead of myself here. So at about 40% things started to pick up for me. I felt like these two were finally getting a bit better at communicating and so they were able to really enjoy each other once again. More importantly, the sexy times picked back up and that was awesome cause Slade and Samantha have some amazing chemistry.
In supporting characters, we still get Micah and Holly though not as much as I would like to see. We do get more of Courtney and Samantha’s relationship which is interesting because they are clearly going through some things so it’s an interesting added dynamic to see. But it’s also nice to see her and Josh interact and I think when we get to their story it’s going to be a good one!
So throughout the book there is someone out to get Slade and/or Samantha. I can honestly say this is one of the first times I have not been able to figure out who it is. I have some suspicions but unfortunately the book ends in a cliffy and we don’t know who it is. Of course, as I mentioned earlier our minds get blown by another big secret.
Overall this is a good read for folks that liked Undescribable. You will probably get frustrated by this couple a few times just because sometimes these two are frustrating. But overall their chemistry and love shines through. I am ready to find out what the heck is going on though and how their love story ends!!
