MICHELLE’S REVIEW

So let me start off by telling you what I loved. Jackie. Here is one strong heroine. Here’s why I loved her. She was super strong and bad ass. She was also really young but she OWNED that and admitted that she was young and still trying to get her bearings on her own. But mot importantly- she acted like a 21 year old but when she really needed to, she had no problem being a total and complete bad ass and going after what she wanted- at whatever cost and doing whatever it takes.

And William. Woo boy. Now I live and work in downtown DC. And I see lots of hot guys wearing the hell out of some suits. So my visual of Will is very real and I am into it.

And I loved that Will was totally Alpha but in this super sweet endearing way. And I loved that that side of him came out for Jackie- it was like she just brought him to life and he loved every second of it.
If you love a forbidden romance, you will enjoy this. Jackie has a lot of skeletons in her closet and they could really hurt William- who is running for political office. It is super sexy watching them flirt around each other and sneak around. It’s also super hot to see them fight their feelings for one another.
There were a couple times where these two did drive me nuts because just a little open communication could have solved some problems. But then- there may have been a lot less conflict and I can see where that is just as necessary to the story. I don’t know if the author had political experience but I thought she did a pretty decent job of capturing the dirty side of politics.

Definitely recommend this one. I’ll admit it started a little slow but really picked up and I ended up really enjoying it!
AUTHOR INFO

Originally a Florida girl, CHANEL CLEETON moved to London where she received a bachelor’s degree from Richmond, The American International University in London and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Chanel fell in love with London and planned to stay there forever, until fate intervened on a Caribbean cruise and a fighter pilot with smooth dance moves swept her off her feet. Now, a happily ever after later, Chanel is living her next adventure.
Law school made Chanel realize she’d rather spend her days writing sexy stories than in a courtroom, and she hasn’t looked back since. An avid reader and hopeless romantic, she’s happiest curled up with a book. She has a weakness for handbags, her three pups, and her husband.
Chanel writes contemporary romances. She is published by Harlequin HQN, Penguin/InterMix, and Penguin/Berkley and is the author of the International School, Capital Confessions, and Wild Aces series.
