Ok I am completely obsessed with the CAPITAL CONFESSIONS series from Chanel Cleeton! This book was the final book and let me tell you- IT. WAS. AMAZING.
We finally get Kate’s story and it was one I was waiting for. I wasn’t sure how to feel about Kate after seeing her behavior in PLAYING WITH TROUBLE, which is her sister Blair’s book.
What we know about Kate is that she has been unable to move on from the death of her fiancee, Matt. We also know that she is convinced there is more to his death than what she has been told. Working for the CIA, she is trying to uncover the secrets but as she gets closer to them, her life is in danger. Add in the fact that she has help- but the person helping her could bring even more danger to both her physical and emotional state.
If you read PLAYING WITH TROUBLE you got the mother load of teasers. Promise it was worth the wait. This book is fast paced, full on intrigue and mystery and there is some HOT sex to make it even better. Kate always knew her father was a terrible man but as she dives further into the lies and the scandal- she might not be prepared for what she finds out.
While I have loved this whole series- this book is my favorite.
It takes the world of politics to that extreme level where everything is secretive and the bad guys look like the good guys and every theory you have is probably wrong. I love the story that CCleeton puts together here. It is equal parts political thriller and romance novel.
I loved every single second and once I started, I couldn’t put it down. I think you’ll feel the same way. While this probably could be a standalone I think to get the full scope and to fully appreciate Kate, you should read her sister’s book as well.
