Isabella Anders just found out Lynn and her dad want to send her to a reform school. But with the help of Grandma Stephy, Isa’s dad agrees to let her move in with her grandma.
Isa is more than relieved to be moving out. And after going on an unofficial date with Kyler, she wonders if maybe her life is starting to turn around. But then she discovers the truth about what really happened to her mother.
Not ready to fully accept that her mother is a murderer, Isa turns to Kai for help. Kai is more than willing to help, but to protect Isa, he keeps some of the more brutal details about her mother’s case to himself until he can find out more.
But when a mysterious blue car starts showing up everywhere, and Isa receives a threatening text message from an unknown caller, Kai realizes someone is dead set on destroying Isa. And he might not be able to protect her.

MICHELLE’S REVIEW
Ok. Let me get a confession out the of the way. I thought this series was a two part series. I did not realize there was going to be a third.
And don’t get it twisted- I LOVE this story. But I was dying to know how it ends and now I just have more questions!

And this, lovers, is what it’s like to be in the mind blowing worlds that Jessica Sorensen creates. I am such a fan of her writing and if you enjoy YA- you really need to try Jessica’s books.
The SUNNYVALE series started with THE YEAR I BECAME ISABELLA ANDERS (read my review HERE). At the end of it- we were left with a huge cliffhanger of Isabella finding out some stuff that she probably subconsciously always knew. During that first book, ,she also starts to develop confusing feelings for her once (and now again) friend Kai while still harboring a crush on his brother Kyler.

Book 2- THE YEAR OF FALLING IN LOVE - picks up right where we left off. Isabella has discovered some new truths that have rocked her world. She of course finds herself running to Kai. But between that- she finds herself unable to say no to Kyler’s new advances.

Throughout the book- Kai fills her in on a lot of secrets from her past that he either knew or has since discovered. And he is 100% in love. It’s an interesting title because at the end of this book- I know who I want Isabella to be in love with but I almost think the title is more about Kai than Isabella.
As the book progresses- more secrets are revealed and in the midst of all of this, Kai’s trouble is growing (though he only seems concerned with Isabella) and a mystery is brewing as someone is trying to keep Isabella from knowing the full truth.
This book ends on another cliffhanger- though not as deep as the last. Still- there is a lot to be resolved in the 3rd book and I can’t wait for it. No seriously- I want it now.
