When you fall, you fall hard…
Every girl dreams of meeting a man like John Day. Tall, dark, and handsome is an understatement. With rugged good looks, his ever present plaid shirt, and a dog named Babe, John is a modern alpha male lumberjack in more ways than one.
Lurking beneath the flannel and beard could be the heart of a romantic. Or is John a wolf in flannel clothing?
After his favorite neighbor rents out her cabin for the winter, John finds himself playing fireman and tour guide to Diane Watson, a beautiful brunette with her own messy past and recent battle scars.
Will he be ready to fall in love? Or will he fall back into his old, flirty ways?
Hold onto your heart… and get ready to fall with John Day as he tells his story in this contemporary romance/romantic comedy told in male POV.
This is a spin-off from Geoducks Are for Lovers. It is not necessary to read that novel first.

MICHELLE’S REVIEW
I was provided with an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
HOLY CRAP I LOVED THIS BOOK!
Sorry to shout at you guys but I really loved this book.
So I read Daisy’s fist book, Geoducks Are For Lovers (GAFL) and LOVED it. It was a great second chance romance story. You can read my review HERE and I highly suggest you put this on your TBR.
In GAFL we meet Maggie’s hunky neighbor John Day. Ready to Fall is his story- and what a story it is. This is definitely a standalone novel so if you have not read GAFL and want to read this first I say go for it. We really dive into John’s world which is quite different from Maggie’s.
So John is literally a hunky lumberjack. No seriously. He is.

Oh but he has a beard ( at least some of the time)

And you get to have those images in your head for the entire book. Honestly I cannot even find a picture to describe how hot John was in my head. And what an image it is. John is HOT. But he’s also super sweet which of course makes him borderline perfect.
He’s not perfect though since he has some demons he deals with and they make it hard for him to let anyone truly in to his life. Despite all that- John is truly a nice guy and so his nice guy complex takes him right over to his temporary new neighbor, Diane.
Diane Watson moves into Maggie’s condo while she is away for a few months. John stumbles upon her and they actually embark on a legit friendship. Diane is coming out a divorce from a marriage that essentially stole away a part of her. She is definitely here finding herself and putting herself back together. John is in an equally complicated state and so they mutually agree to be friends.
A friendship is perfect for them, right? WRONG. The chemistry cannot and will not be denied. And when they give into it…

These two are so damn hot together there was steam coming off of my iPad. And the time they spend together is so perfect. I am not an outdoorsy person but these are dates I would totally go on. They sound so fun. And he’s just so damn cute about it. And even before things take a sexy turn, their interaction with each other is perfect. They have some of the wittiest dialogue I have seen in a while. You can’t help but hope that they fall for each other.
There is so much about their story that I love but probably the best thing is how realistic it was and how much I could relate to the story. John and Diane are both in their early 30′s and they know the realistic side of how love works. John is so darn scared of losing love that he becomes his own worst enemy.

Before Diane he’s almost content with relationships that don’t really go anywhere, until he’s in one that really won’t go somewhere (not Diane). I think in his subconscious he knows he wants more but is still self sabotaging. I totally get you John!!!!
Diane on the other hand has a better grip on what she wants. But she also isn’t willing to lay it all out for nothing.
So one of them will have to fight. And you LOVE how it all goes down. I know I did. Daisy did a wonderful job of not rushing the ending. I think they way she handles their relationship through it’s ups and downs is so well done.
Get this book. This is what real life romance is like and it’s awesome. And if you have that kind of love in your life you will appreciate it and if you don’t you will love reading about it in a way that you can finally feel like- hey maybe that will happen to me one day!
Well done Daisy. You have solidified a spot in my “authors I trust implicitly and will start stalking via FB list.” Welcome to the club.
Book Spin-off - GEODUCKS ARE FOR LOVERS
Food writer Maggie Marrion is just getting back on her feet after a horrible year, or two, or three. With their twentieth reunion approaching, she invites four of her closest friends from college for a weekend at her beach cabin. What she doesn’t expect is her best friends, artist Quinn Dayton and part-time erotica novelist, Selah Elmore, to play matchmaker. The two plot a surprise that will make the weekend, and her life, a lot more interesting.
Gil Morrow, former grunge musician turned history professor, joins them as Selah’s date for the weekend. After coming face to face with the one who got away, he decides he’s waited long enough to get the girl. With the support of old friends, a few wishing rocks, the world’s largest burrowing clam, and a hot lumberjack thrown into the mix, Gil reminds Maggie that forty-something isn’t too old for second chances.
Can we learn to love the life we have and let go of who we expected to be? What happens when the generation from The Breakfast Club and Reality Bites meets The Big Chill? Come spend a weekend with these Generation X-ers as they share laughter, tears, life’s ups and downs, old stories, and new beginnings.
