Winter Donovan loves two things: her sister and her sister’s ex boyfriend. She’s spent her whole life doing the right thing except that one time, that night when Finn O’Malley looked hollowed out by his father’s death. Then she did something very wrong that felt terribly right.
Finn can’t stop thinking about Winter and the night and he’ll do anything to make her a permanent part of his life, even if it means separating Winter from the only family she has.
Their love was supposed to be unrequited but one grief stricken guy and one girl with too big of a heart results in disastrous consequences.

MICHELLE’S REVIEW
Where do I even start with this book?

I’m not an author so I don’t know what it feels like to give birth to a book baby.
But I do beta read a lot and I beta read for Jen- a lot. And it’s a unique experience because Jen can sometimes be working on a number of things and I’ll get chapters for different books. Her writing is so good that she can switch from the Woodlands to the Control series to the Hitman Series and to a whole host of other great tricks and treats!
But Unrequited gave Jen trouble. Not because she didn’t have a great story, but because it wasn’t quite coming out on the paper the way it was in her head. Until it did.
This version that the world gets to read- it’s so good. It’s great really. The tagline on the cover says it all- They have no good choices, not even each other. Winter and Finn have doom and gloom written all over them.

Finn is Winter’s longtime, childhood crush. He’s also her sister’s ex boyfriend. While Finn, doesn’t see this as an issue, Winter sees it as a big roadblock. Even with a lukewarm blessing from her sister- it’s not good enough.
Of course Ivy is the worst human being to ever crawl up from whatever sewer she was living in. Selfish. It’s the best word to describe her. But she’s so much more than that. She’s just the worst. The way she treats Winter is deplorable. Manipulating her every which way she can. Just thinking about it makes me angry.

But I think you have to hate Ivy because it’s the only way Winter would ever be able to break free from her. And not just so that she can be with Finn. In fact it’s not really about that. Winter needs to be free for Winter. And maybe also for Ivy’s sake.
If you have read the Woodlands series, you’re going to get to see all of those guys and it’s glorious. You also get to know the gang at the Atra Tattoo shop. We briefly met these characters in Gray’s book- Unraveled. If you haven’t met these characters- you need to. I am DYING for Tucker’s story.
