So I will admit that I JUST read VICIOUS CYCLE (book #1) and REDEMPTION ROAD (book #2) back to back. I had always meant to read VC but had not had a chance to until now.
I was definitely curious to see Katie Ashley write an MC series. You see, THE PROPOSITION series is one of our all time favorites at All Romance Reviews. So we are Katie Ashley fans here.
If you are a hardcore MC lover- I will tell you that these books are probably going to be different. That’s not meant to say you won’t enjoy it because I certainly did. Katie does inject some dark stuff into these books for sure. But there is a bit of light that comes in that I don’t feel you normally see in an MC story so that’s a different twist on things.
This is the story of Rev, who we met in VICIOUS CYCLE and Annabel who is new. Now if you’re anything like me and read VC- you might have been in love with Rev from the start and totally ready for his story.
This guys is a total sweet and sensitive biker but he gets the job done when he needs to. He’s a total guy and makes total idiot guy mistakes but he’s great at redeeming himself.
Annabel is a likeable and strong female character who I think anyone could get behind and root for. As a “good” daughter of a politician, she decides to take a walk on the wild side - a bad decision that turns her world upside down and changes her entire life.
But part of that change included Rev and nothing could be bad about that.
If you are a fan of the series you get to see old and familiar characters. It’s a quick read and is an entertaining story. Some parts are dark, but overall not too much that it would be uncomfortable if you aren’t used to darker reads. This can be read as a standalone but you might be a little lost on a few of the characters so I do think it’s best to read it as a series.
Bishop’s book is next and I am sure that will be a fun one!!
