MICHELLE’S REVIEW
So I am a huge A.L. Jackson fan. I love how emotionally packed her stories are. I was really looking forward to Lyrik and Tamar’s story. I knew AL was going to snack me with a rollercoaster of emotions but I never saw some of this coming.

Tamar is SUCH a survivor. She’s been through hell and throughout this story she fully crawls her way out of that hell.
Lyrik is everything you expect from a rock star hero. Sexy, bad boy, and broken.
Now- I have to admit- while I did love this book overall, I had some issues. I did not love how when Lyrik got scared and pushed Tamar away he always insulted her in such a deep way that it broke MY heart.

And for me- some of the ways in which he pushed her- she forgave him way to easily. I was all for them getting their happy ending but after a bit I was wondering if Lyrik deserved her. Part of why I didn’t get Lyrik for so long is that it takes almost the entire book before we really find out what has him so broken. It’s tough but I still felt like it didn’t merit how much of an asshole he was to Tamar at times.
All that aside- Lyrik is the reason that Tamar finds her bravery and in the end they are a good match. I think Tamar made this book for me. While I was sometimes mad at her for forgiving him too easily- I came to realize that a lot of times what felt weak to me was actually her version of being strong. And the kind of love she had for Lyrik (and vice versa) is nothing I have ever experienced, so at some level- I probably just don’t understand that connection but I was able to appreciate it.
BTW- if you thought the chemistry was going to be off the charts for these two- you were right. So sexy.
I loved the epilogue. I was teary eyed through almost all of it.
This book can probably be read as a standalone but it is part of a series. I’m looking forward to more from the Sunder gang. There was also something in the epilogue that has my curiosity at an all time high. I won’t spoil it for you but there’s something I am dying to know.
