PEPPER’S REVIEW
OK. First of all, this is my first Blakely Bennett book and I feel like I have been living under a rock. Her writing is phenomenal!

I was sucked in by page one. The prologue had me at hello! Well, let me take that back, the synopsis had me at hello. Hence, why I was so pumped to be lucky enough to read an ARC of it! Seriously though, who hasn’t ever thought - what if? I work in a middle school. I think that multiple times a day (man if I only knew then what I know now…what if, RE-DO?!?).
Anyway, so this storyline was 13 GOING ON 30 meets HIGHLANDER of sorts. I was absolutely crazed for Jayden and Callahan’s love story. My God, ANYONE would be a lunatic not to take a chance to have more time for that kind of love.
However, the entire time I was reading I kept thinking back to the movie BUTTERFLY EFFECT
and I was like, you just can’t change the past. I saw that movie at some weird formative time in my adult life and I’ve never been able to accept that the past should NOT be fucked with. Having said that, I still loved the shit out of this book.
Jayden is amazing. I really loved how BBenn writes a 48 year old woman trying to navigate through an 18 year old! It was comical at times. I really enjoyed Jayden and Patrick’s relationship and appreciated that was also something focused on with the whole “re-do” - not JUST the love of her life. The professor was a nice add into the mix and young Cal was definitely not what I expected after reading the synopsis.
One thing I did NOT expect, but was totes fine with was the eroticism. Holy mother hug the sex in this book was HOT! Thank you BBenn. When I started reading I was like, OK this will be a sweet one for sure - a nice break from my regularly scheduled thigh clencher. Nope.

All in all, this book was really great. It was different than what I normally read and like I said, the writing/editing is really good. I would definitely recommend this, especially if you are looking for something different!
