Blog Tour: Review & GIVEAWAY - GABRIEL’S REDEMPTION by Sylvain Reynard

From the author of the New York Times bestsellers Gabriel’s Rapture and Gabriel’s Inferno comes the epic conclusion to the captivating romantic trilogy.

Professor Gabriel Emerson has left his position at the University of Toronto to embark on a new life with his beloved Julianne. Together, he’s confident that they can face any challenge. And he’s eager to become a father.

But Julianne’s graduate program threatens Gabriel’s plans, as the pressures of being a student become all consuming. When she is given the honor of presenting an academic lecture at Oxford, Gabriel is forced to confront Julianne about the subject of her presentation—research that conflicts with his own. And in Oxford, several individuals from their past appear, including an old nemesis intent on humiliating Julia and exposing one of Gabriel’s darkest secrets.

In an effort to confront his remaining demons, Gabriel begins a quest to discover more about his biological parents, beginning a chain of events that has startling repercussions for himself, Julianne, and his hope of having a family.

MICHELLE’S REVIEW

Ok guys. This was my #1 most anticipated book of the year. Waiting for it was like:

And then the day that Enn sent us the Netgalley widget I was like:

Sylvain Reynard did not disappoint. I was really curious to see how this book was going to go since there wasn’t originally a third book planned and the end of Gabriel’s Rapture was so perfect. When we left Julianne and Gabriel, it seemed they had laid their demons to rest and had finally found their true happiness with one another.

When we join Julianne and Gabriel, they are on a summer break from Julianne’s studies and they pick up at the house in Selinsgrove. I love how they always come back to place they fell in love- that orchard. Even though the sex isn’t graphic in these books, SR does an amazing job of creating foreplay and building a scene that is so hot you could just have a mini O on the spot.

It also helps to picture Gabriel like this:

Sorry- where was I??

Oh yes- so the book. Right. The story itself was really interesting. Not only did we follow Julianne and Gabriel, we got to see the stories of some of the people who had played roles in their lives over the years. Without any spoilers, here’s a few of the things you get to see.

Christa- This bitch. I swear, she is the most evil woman in the world. But you get to see her brought down a few pegs. And as much of a bitch as she is she has some things come to her that are really awful. However, I think she’s just so evil to the core it will never matter.

Professor Picton. Ok I thought she was pretty cool in Rapture. But in Redemption this woman quickly becomes one of the most amazing supporting characters ever. She’s like their own little Sophia Petrillo. She just keeps on telling it like it is and I love her!

Then there is Paul aka Angelfucker. Now I have always been rooting for Gabriel. But I would lying if I told you I didn’t have a soft spot for Paul. And his love for Julianne really is beautiful throughout the series but especially in this book.

Simon and Natalie. They are terrible human beings and you could almost feel sorry for them because it’s clear that they just suck at life but instead I’m just like:

But beyond all that- there is the love of Julianne and Gabriel. They have a lot to deal with in this book. And again- I don’t want to spoil anything but basically, they must deal with both their past and their present. Gabriel especially has to face demons from his past if he truly wants to move on to a future family with Julianne. And Julianne has to deal with the fact that as much as she loves Gabriel and wants to have a child with him, she wants to be successful in her education and her career.

This is an emotional journey for many reasons. One, we are watching a couple that we have been rooting for for so long find their way together. And two, we are finally saying goodbye to a couple we have loved for so long.

No matter what, Gabriel will always be my number one book boyfriend of all time. Sexy, smart, and can turn a woman on with just a few words. Take me now.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I’m interested in the way literature can help us explore aspects of the human condition - particularly suffering, sex, love, faith, and redemption. My favourite stories are those in which a character takes a journey, either a physical journey to a new and exciting place, or a personal journey in which he or she learns something about himself/herself.

I’m also interested in how aesthetic elements such as art, architecture, and music can be used to tell a story or to illuminate the traits of a particular character. In my writing, I combine all of these elements with the themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the transformative power of goodness.

I try to use my platform as an author to raise awareness about the following charities: Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation, WorldVision, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, and Covenant House. For more information, see my Twitter account.
