MICHELLE’S REVIEW
So football is my favorite sport. I mean I actually love the game but it helps that football players are incredibly sexy to me. So when I saw a book with a football start in it I was like:

Fourth Down really has little to do with actual football but it’s definitely a part of it and more importantly it has a sexy ex-football star- Ford Walsh. Ford is pissed at the world when his football career ends. Of course the fact that he is most upset about the fact that without his football star status, his ailing mother will not receive the best care possible and he feels like he has failed her. So he moves back home to be her care taker.
Now lets just stop for a minute and think about what Ford might look like running in the rain, shall we?

Ok then.
On the other side of the story you have Poppy. Poppy is hired to take care of Ford’s mom as a helper during the day while Ford is at work. Of course before her first day she meets Ford in the bar he works at and he gets the wrong idea about her- thinking she is a party girl who is into underage drinking. So when they meet again at Ford’s house it does not go well.
But the pair forges an unlikely friendship. And this is reason number 2 why I was destined to love this book. I LOVE when a romance forms out of a friendship. Maybe it makes it more realistic but whatever the reason-it just works for me.
And when they make the transition to more than friends- sparks fly- the good kind. And it’s awesome. And the way they finally come together…oh. my. God. Let’s just say there might have been some of this:

This book also has some great supporting characters. Ford’s friends are wonderful and they really become Poppy’s friends which is awesome. And Poppy’s relationship with Ford’s mom will make your eyes water. It’s very sweet.
And the ending- SO PERFECT. Gah!
If you want to read a solid book with a sporty twist, likeable characters, emotion and romance- read this book!
