This book!
I loved everything about this book! It’s like the best episode of HGTV EVERY! A fairly simple story line, but actually something fresh and new - I’m in love!! Plus this visual all the time helped:
OK, so Caleb Pierce (Cal) is our main guy for this book. He and his brothers are ALL HOT and have a stock in the family construction business. However, the three of them have not spoken for 5 years (due to a family tragedy) and dear old dad won’t give any of them the business unless they work together and make a profit for 1 year. And Cal is pissed - because frankly he deserves the business as he is the one that stayed in town to finally fulfill his legacy to own it - while the other two ran off pissed and hurt.
Cal is everything you need and want in a hot AF contractor and he’s also has some pent up emotions (mostly anger, betrayal, irritation) that makes him even more attractive. Not saying we like angry dudes up in here, but his emotions are running way close to the surface and the entire book I just imagined this happening:
because he just needed to let go of this pent up emotion - and possibly screw it out of his system… Interestingly enough he is perfection in bed - alpha but also gentle and not overpowering. I really wanted to hold Cal to my bosom and tell him to eff me senseless and also tell him life is going to be ok.
OMG, then enter Morgan. Who I also wanted to hold to my bosom (not necessarily tell her to eff me senseless) but tell her life is going to be ok. She had some shit in her past and it brings out a very controlling demeanor that sets Cal off in ways that make your nether regions tremble (their banter is THE. BEST.)
Morgan is a very sought after interior designer that is building a home for some rich Hollywood celebs. And she will stop at nothing to get the Pierce Brothers Construction to do the job. It all happens in a shady way and Cal and Morgan absolutely loathe each other (but do they really?)
This is quite literally one of the best hate-to-love stories I’ve ever read! Complete opposites, Morgan and Cal just can’t get enough of each other. At first - name calling and irritable lust - to HOT AF sexy time. They tried to keep it profesh, but obvs that didn’t happen.
So they decide to do each other until the project is over and move on after. But can they?
Supporting cast is amaaahhzing!! I cannot wait for Dalton and Tristan’s books!! Also, there is a side storyline that I suspect will inter loop between all three books - which I LOVE when an author does that with a series.
If you guys are looking for a new series to get completely immersed in, this is for you. ESPECIALLY if you are an HGTV junkie like me. I loved it! Book 2 and 3??
