When Addison meets Pierce, the one person who doesn’t have an ulterior motive, the one person she can talk to openly, Colin thinks his life may be over.

Michelle’s Review

Holy angst Batman.

So this book was just so not what I was expecting.

From the synopsis, I thought for sure Colin and Addison would have some speed bumps, and Pierce would play some kind of a role but the authors just flipped all my expectations around.

So as you can tell from the synopsis, an accident causes Addison to have short term memory and so she can’t remember her love for Colin. This part of the story is truly heartbreaking. You can feel Colin’s love in the pages of the book and your heart just breaks for him. At least mine did. I really felt for him the entire time. Even when he acts a little cray- I can’t even be mad cause I am so on his team.

Colin and Addison attempt to be friends but can you really be friends when one person is totally and utterly in love with the other?? And the other person can’t remember shit about your time together. Jesus.

Then Pierce enters the picture. He’s handsome, rich and new and Addison falls for him. Honestly, I was just not into Pierce. I can see the appeal- don’t get me wrong. I am guessing people are either Team Pierce or Team Colin and I am Team Colin all the way. But it’s more than being on Colin’s side. He just didn’t take my breath away. And I almost felt they moved to fast for me to invest in them as a couple.

Really Pierce just made me feel like:

A lot of the story is really focused on them and their relationship. Eventually Colin finds that if he can either have a little bit of Addison as his friend or none of her. And my heart was broken. So if you’re like me and your Team Colin you probably spent a lot of the book just hoping he would find happiness because at this point I just knew that it was all over and I wanted to find a way to give myself to him.

I mean, he doesn’t do anything to cause Addison to stop loving him and so that makes it even more unfair. Now, don’t get me wrong- he does and says some stupid shit but as hurt as he is, I don’t blame him.

So this is where reviewing this book becomes tricky. At this point any more information and I will have officially said to much and I’ll be in dangerous spoiler territory. And I would never do that to you dear reader. So I guess all that needs to be said is- I think you should buy this book!

The book isn’t actually too terribly angsty until the very end and the it’s just like:

I cannot believe these ladies left us like that!!!! I need book 2 NOW. I mean I know I said it was angsty but it wasn’t the type of book where you are like uncomfortable with angst the entire time. No- most of the time things are pretty cool with some minor moments of stress thrown in. But that ending. Holy Lord. Angst-city.

Is this a cliffy? Most definitely. HUGE CLIFFY!! And there are a couple of plot points in book 1 that I think will rear their ugly head in book 2 (not even talking about the cliffhanger here) and it is going to be CRAZY TOWN!! And I cannot wait to see what happens!!!
