Some sort of Happy is LIVE!

Synopsis

Skylar Nixon is a twenty-seven year old failed actress with no Plan B. After a humiliating stint on a reality TV show crushes what’s left of her childhood dream, she finds herself back in her hometown with no money saved, no college degree, and no confidence she’s anything but a joke—a small town starlet who couldn’t hack it in the big city.
When she runs into former classmate Sebastian Pryce, she can’t believe the hot body and chiseled jaw belong to the shy, troubled loner she knew ten years before. He’s not exactly friendly at first, and she’s heard the rumors about his tragic past, but something in his sad eyes intrigues her. She only wants to get to know him better.
Until the night she wants more—and takes it. (Hard and deep. Twice.)
Are they just two lonely people seeking solace? Or can a disgraced beauty queen and flawed, frustrated man find some sort of happy ever after?
**SOME SORT OF HAPPY is a full-length, dual POV novel, complete with a happy ending.**

Michelle’s Review

Oh. Em. Gee. I LOVED this book. LOVED.

So I fell in love with Melanie Harlow after reading Frenched. I went on to love the rest of the series (Forked and Floored) and found Melanie’s style of romantic comedy to be just perfect.

But Some Sort of Happy??? I can’t put into words how much I loved this book. So excuse me while I ramble for a bit.

First of all- this is still a romantic comedy. It’s light and funny which is AMAZING because one of the characters has a severe illness in the form of anxiety and OCD. So let’s start there. MHar managed to give you such a dynamic character in Sebastian Pryce who managed to be funny and easy to love but who was also suffering in a major way from this disorder. So your heart breaks for this guy as you see his struggle through his eyes but also through the eyes of our heroine, Skylar.

Skylar is such an easy character to love. She’s that girl we all know that is beautiful on the inside and out. You wish you could hate her, but it’s impossible. As Skylar navigates trying to figure out what to do with the rest of her life, she finds herself falling into Sebastian’s world…and his bed.

For whatever reason- the years of unrequited crush, an immediate connection- who knows- Sebastian really opens up to Skylar from the beginning. So she knows about his problems right off the bat but she wants to go after him even with that information. Sebastian, of course, thinks he is no good for her and sabotages himself every step of the way. Where the back and forth of their relationship would normally be annoying, it is a necessary evil dealing with Sebastian’s issues of anxiety and depression. He gets in his own way and it’s Skylar’s balance of putting up with some things and not putting up with other things that makes the relationship- and the story- work.

I could go on forever about this book but here is what you need to know. It’s excellent. Truly. It is well written, funny, sweet, romantic and the sex??? Holy crap. That was some of the sexiest stuff I have seen in a while. I was aroused. Highly. But beyond all that- it’s just a great book. It’s your regular romance with an irregular twist and it works from start to finish. And- those of you that loved Frenched- you will have a special surprise appearance that will make you grin from ear to ear!

Read. Love. Enjoy. Now.
