When Andi is offered her dream job working in the glamorous world of F1, she leaves her home in Brazil, positive she can handle working for Carrick. But she’s not prepared for the off-the-chart sparks that fly the moment they meet.

MICHELLE’S REVIEW

Wow. Can I just have a moment please?
Because that…that was
I DEVOURED this book. In like 2 hours- one sitting and this book was done. I couldn’t get enough of Carrick and Andressa or “Andi” as she goes by.

I loved every instant of what happened in this book. The friends to lovers to I don’t what the hell to call you two anymore to finally a happy ever after was PERFECTION.

So warning- the prologue is going to bitch slap you.

But it’s important because it clearly sets the tone for the love/hate relationship Andi has with racing. With a model for a mother- Andi looks like she should be one of the girls who should wave the checkered flag for the start of race while being scantily clad with scraps of clothing. But she ACTUALLY prefers to be in coveralls under the hood of a car. Her father instilled that love of cars in her.
When her “uncle” and godfather gives her a chance to be on the mechanics crew of Carrick Ryan- the number one rising star of the Formula 1 racing circuit, she jumps at the chance. Andi knows Carrick is a player and is fully prepared to fend off any of his advances. But pictures don’t do him justice and while her logical brain tells her he’s no good- her body is basically in heat.
But a lifetime of fear over falling in love proves useful in her ability to fend off Carrick’s advances and as a result- he’s intrigued and decides to befriend her. And for a while it seems like it’s working. HA! No way two smoking hot people who are hot for each other can’t eventually stop fighting and when they do- get ready for the fireworks!!!
But of course it’s not that easy. Carrick isn’t used to a girl not trying to pin him down and Andi is just so scared. So cue the angst cause there is plenty to go around while these two dance around each other. Carrick makes some ill advised choices but where I would probably be mad at him normally- I actually couldn’t blame him here. It was clear he was hurt by Andi as often and as much as she could be hurt by him.
This book is all about letting love in. Love is frightening. As someone who is single and has had to deal with the ebbs and flows of dating someone, falling for them and then being really sad when it ends- it’s always hard to drive yourself to fall back in love with someone. But love happens to you. And that’s what happens to Andi and Carrick. People who fight love or don’t look for it can do that all they want- but love will find them!
Read this book. It’s beautiful and romantic. It has angst but it’s not overdone. And I learned that I am really into hot race car drivers!!
