OMG. Lovers. This books was so funny!! I absolutely adored it!
Katie Ashley has written two characters that are likeable, hilarious and find themselves in the most ridiculous situations.
Olivia Sullivan has bad luck in love. I mean I thought my love like sucked but Olivia’s SUCKED.
Until it doesn’t. Because all that bad earned her a shit ton of good in the form of Catcher Mains (government name Holden Caulfield Mains), a GBI agent who is sexy as sin, loves to dirty talk, is a killer in the sack and is 100% male.
So Olivia is totally likeable. She’s funny, a little self deprecating in a way that is relateable and even charming but ultimately is happy with her life and lives it to the fullest. She has an interesting career as an undertaker and medical coroner but she embraces and enjoys it. Her mother is like any mother of a single woman in her 30s but she loves her. Her brother is her best friend and she has a grandmother, Pease, that will leave you in stitches. Pease needs a novella. That old woman has got some tales to tell.
And on the other hand, you have Catcher. I fell in love with this guy. He wastes no time getting down to the dirty business. Like most book boyfriends, he’s a unicorn because he chases Olivia, makes her fall in love and loves her back and doesn’t ghost on her like men today do. But he’s also real in that he belches and farts and does guy things you never really read about. Alpha males burp. They just do.
I loved that this book was as funny as it was sexy. And there is a bit of insta love here BUT it’s addressed, acknowledged and there’s even some fun poked at it so it works.
Nudist colonies, strange things happening to male body parts all over the place, snake charmers and a character named Ronald Krump (seriously- it’s perfect) make for an entertaining love story unlike any other.
I will say that the ending was a bit rushed for me. I was surprised to see I was at 91% and something I had been expecting from the first page had not come back yet. But then suddenly it was there and it moved very quickly. It wasn’t a bad ending- just a bit rushed for me.
Overall though- this book was great. The sex is SERIOUSLY hot. Like there is this one scene- phew. You just gotta read it. Grab this one today- you won’t regret it!
