The new series is set in Vermont. True North is populated by the tough, outdoorsy mountain men that populate the Green Mountain State. They raise cows and they grow apples. They chop a lot of wood, especially when they need to blow off steam. (Beards are optional but encouraged.)
If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the orchard.
The last person Griffin Shipley expects to find stuck in a ditch on his Vermont country road is his ex-hookup. Five years ago they’d shared a couple of steamy nights together. But that was a lifetime ago.
At twenty-seven, Griff is now the accidental patriarch of his family farm. Even his enormous shoulders feel the strain of supporting his mother, three siblings and a dotty grandfather. He doesn’t have time for the sorority girl who’s shown up expecting to buy his harvest at half price.
Vermont was never in Audrey Kidder’s travel plans. Neither was Griff Shipley. But she needs a second chance with the restaurant conglomerate employing her. Okay—a fifth chance. And no self-righteous lumbersexual farmer will stand in her way.
They’re adversaries. They want entirely different things from life. Too bad their sexual chemistry is as hot as Audrey’s top secret enchilada sauce, and then some.

MICHELLE’S REVIEW
I’ve never read a book by Sarina Bowen but between this cover and the fact that this book is about bearded mountain men- I was 100% in.

So we have Griffin- or Griff- who is bearded and a mountain man and makes cider on his farm and has apples for sale at the farmer’s market. So basically he’s a dream man for us all.
At a young age he has to take on his family farm and the role of patriarch so he has no time for fun aka naked fun with women.
But then Audrey shows up on his farm from the big city and she’s not just an city slicker. Nope- she’s the girl who he had two steamy hook ups with in college only to never hear from her again.

So things got interesting.
I loved the premise of this book. I loved that Audrey was kind of a lost soul in some ways but also totally secure in who she was. She was always a let down to her mother but she never let that stop her from going after what she wanted. I think one of my only issues with this book actually was how quick things got resolved with her mom in the end cause honestly- her mom was a grade A bitch through most of this.
Anyways- I digress. Audrey and Griff have this sort of hate sex thing at first and then it’s not that but it seems like that and then it’s not that at all- but the whole way through it is SO FREAKING HOT!

But within that there are these beautiful side stories of what makes a family, of growing up and making things your own, about finding love in unlikely places- it’s just the kind of book that makes you feel good.
The supporting cast in this book is great and there are definitely some side story lines I cannot wait to hear about in future books.
Overall this is a great read- its fun and and sexy and funny. While I felt the ending was a little rushed- it was still a great ending. I think this is a series I am really going to enjoy.
