As some of you know, I have been studying to become a CPA for a few months now and it’s been difficult to work up the motivation to keep reading my textbook and trying to focus on the curriculum that I need to get through. Every time I pick up any of my review guides, I find myself wondering away into a great fiction book or even trying to imagine the ending of my current book club book. This isn’t a good thing, so I decided to write this post.
I like to read for enjoyment. It’s fun to get away and see the world through the eyes of another author or character. I think the most difficult thing about studying is that it feels very sterile and unappealing. There is no imagination in it and it leaves me wanting something else.
After about of month of being frustrated I decided to find a new review course. I looked up the leading cpa review course materials to find one that fit my learning style and one that would help me pay attention more. There are a few different companies out there that make comprehensive CPA study courses, but I wanted to narrow my decision down to two options. I needed something that give me the information I needed but also keep me awake and alive. If any of you have studied for a standardized test, you know exactly what I am talking about.
I found that Wiley CPAexcel has some of the most comprehensive courses available and they also aren’t extremely expensive. After looking through their materials and reading a CPA Excel study material review, I decided that this company was definitely a contender for one of my top two courses. It has smaller lessons that don’t require me to hold my attention for long periods of time. It also means that I can study for shorter periods and get back to reading the books that I actually want to finish.
Another review course that I looked at was Yaeger CPA. This course seems to be a little more old school although they do seem to be updating their presentation and layout making it a more modern package. The CPA review course by Yaeger seems like it will be very thorough, but I’m afraid that the lecturers and materials will be too long and I won’t be able to get through them as quickly as I need to. Either way, this is definitely one of the top courses that I have seen.
I am going to try to stick to a study schedule and get this exam out of my way, so I can get back to my life. If any of you think about it, you can email me to bug me about studying. I could use a little motivation and accountability. I think that’s all I going to write about this. My exam in next month and I need to get to work. Wish me luck. I will post my results, so everyone can see how I did.

College is getting more and more expensive every year and students are always looking for ways to save on tuition or cut costs. Every fall there is a mad dash for financial aid as students look for ways to lower the high cost of classes.
Libraries seem to get sort of a bad rap these days—especially among people under the age of 25. Say just about anything about libraries and you can expect to hear, “Who goes to libraries anymore?”
I know I have talked a lot about
