PEPPER & MICHELLE’S JOINT REVIEW

MICHELLE:
OH
EM
GEE

PEPPER: omgomgomgomgomgomg

MICHELLE: Kristen Ashley is a GODDESS!!

PEPPER: A Goddess of the highest regard. It’s obscene how much of a mother fucking Goddess this woman is.

MICHELLE: She is the queen and I am obsessed with her.

PEPPER: Obsessed.

MICHELLE: I recognize this is nothing new but I’m just reminded of it when ever I read one of her books.

PEPPER: Every time. Every God Damn time.

MICHELLE: WALK THROUGH FIRE was amazing. For one thing- it brought together all your favorite KA characters from the Chaos series and of course a few other friends.

PEPPER: I LOVE how she does this. She intertwines like 4 different series together. And I just get giddy. Like a mother hugging drunk ass bitch.

MICHELLE: Ha! Right! But ultimately this was High (Logan) and Millie’s story and it was amazing. I love second chance romances and so to have one from the queen herself, makes me tingly inside and downstairs.

PEPPER: SO. MUCH. TINGLING. Like I’ve said a million times. Second chances are my favorite. However, also so so so heart wrenching. And this book. This story was really hard. This was definitely one of KAs most emotional stories I’ve ever read. And it was HARD!

MICHELLE: I agree. I think High and Millie had one of the hardest roads to one another. It was so heartbreaking but boy was it worth it in the end.

PEPPER: Have I said that I could not stop reading?!? I HAD to know how they got through everything!

MICHELLE: OMG, I know. The pain that these two went through- I felt it. I haven’t cried this much in a while. Not full on ugly cry but I definitely got emotional and since I was reading this on a plane, I had to awkwardly wipe away tears on my sleeve while the guy next to me looked at me like I was nuts.

PEPPER: Thank God I was curled up in my bed with my blanket. This was a really intense read. And one I could NOT put down. I may have read at work…

MICHELLE: I don’t know how KA does this with every single book but she has once again created a story that I can see and that I can feel.

PEPPER: I honestly feel like if I went to Denver I would run into all of these people. She makes it feel so real that I just know I will find the coffee shop they all frequent and get a coffee made by Tex! It’s insane how she does this!

MICHELLE: Right?! Also in addition to our main characters and the Chaos family we know- I fell in love with Millie’s friends and family as well as with Cleo and eventually Zadie. I’ll let you find out for yourself who they are.

PEPPER: OMG. Cleo and Zadie. And Dottie. You know how I feel about supporting characters. And these were some of the BEST!!

MICHELLE: So, Maybe I’m a sucker for second hands romances. Maybe I’m the girl who loves a hero even when he’s a jackass. And maybe I was just in a frame of mind to really FEEL these characters but whatever it is- this book worked for me.

PEPPER: I 100% agree. Like, I always love KA books. Without a doubt, I know I will read and enjoy everything she creates. WALK THROUGH FIRE, however, I devoured. You don’t have to read the 3 books before this to understand what we are gushing about. If you haven’t started the CHAOS series, don’t worry. Just read this book. However you do it - 1st or in order - READ. IT.

AUTHOR INFO

Kristen AshleyKristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, and has lived in Denver, Colorado, and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multigenerational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland, and Kristen grew up listening to the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Whitesnake. Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music and love was a good way to grow up. And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.
