CRAZY OVER YOU by Daisy Prescott: Book Tour & Review

My savior isn’t prince charming.

I’m not that lucky.

He’s my worst nightmare.

He’s my one night stand from two years ago.

And he doesn’t remember me.

What happens on vacation doesn’t always stay on vacation. Especially in a place like Aspen. I moved to the mountains for my dream vet job. I never expected to run into the man of my dreams. Again.

I never thought I’d see her again.

My Cinderella didn’t leave me a shoe to find her.

Not that I’d need random footwear to recognize her.

Her kiss is something I’ll never forget.

Work hard. Play hard. I’m paid to be a nice guy on the slopes, but what I do in my off time isn’t always about making good choices. That’s the fun of living in a ski town. I stay while the women come and go.

Crazy Over You is a standalone romantic comedy and the second book in the Love with Altitude series.

MICHELLE’S REVIEW

I am in love with Daisy Prescott.

She is my number one go to author when I need to read a really solid romance with older characters. And when I say older, I mean not 20. Like 30 and above. It’s rare to find in our romance world and I love Daisy for it. That being said these two are a little younger but Daisy writes them really well. She does conversation so damn well that you feel like you’re in it.

So this story has a dog in it which automatically makes me love it. Our heroine is Mara is likeable and smart and I kind of like how she’s a bit awkward and not perfect.

Jesse is sexy and witty and funny and everything I love about a guy in a book. And he works on the ski patrol team and that is just super duper hot.

Did I mention there is a dog and that I love dogs? Cause there is a dog.

Anyways- this book is relatively low on drama and angst and for me I really appreciate that once in a while. Also it’s funny. Like I laughed out loud.

And there is Fern the Dog. Who rescues people. Cause dogs are amazing.

So if you haven’t figured it out- I love Daisy and I love this book. So read it.

RUNNING MATE by Katie Ashley: Book Tour – Review & GIVEAWAY

RUNNING_MATE_BOOK_TOUR

running mate cover-2Barrett

The name’s Barrett Callahan. Yeah, that Barrett Callahan—the one the press dubbed “Bare” after those naked sexting pictures surfaced. At twenty-five, I was armed with an MBA from Harvard, an executive position at my father’s Fortune 500 company, a penthouse, and a different piece of delectable eye candy in my bed every weekend. I had a life most men dreamed of. But then my father decided to run for president, and my playboy lifestyle became a liability to his campaign that was built on family values. My “makeover” comes in the form of a fake fiancée who I don’t even get to choose–one who is an uptight, choirgirl acting priss but also sexy-as-hell.

Addison

My latest relationship had gone down in flames, and I was drowning in a sea of student loans when in true Godfather status, James Callahan made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. Seven figures for seven months on the campaign trail pretending to be the adoring fiancée of his son, Barrett. As soon as he won the election, our engagement would be dissolved amicably for the press, I was free to ride off into the sunset a million dollars richer, and because of the NDA, no one would be the wiser. Sure, I’d never met the guy, but I’d been a theater nerd in high school. I could pull off any role from Lady Macbeth to Maria Von Trapp. But that was before I met my fake fiancé—the infuriating, self-absorbed, egotistical, drop-dead-sexy King of the Manwhores.

The race will be a fight to the death finish, and that’s not even the actual campaign.

MICHELLE’S REVIEW

This book made me happy in the way my first Katie Ashley book did. We here at All Romance Reviews are huge fans of THE PROPOSITION series. While these books are very different- the same things that made me fall in love with THE PROPOSITION were what made me love RUNNING MATE.

Barrett is the asshole you love to hate and hate to love and you spend about half the book just hoping he gets his head out of his ass. But we love those guys. Admit it.

And when they do see the light- omg – swoon city.

Addison is likeable and the kind of character you would be friends with. She’s smart and funny and sassy. All the things I strive to be.

The burn between these two is slow and sexy and really just perfect. There are some fun tie ins for Katie Ashley fans that you’ll enjoy. My only complaint was that it was a little slow to start for me but it moves fast after you get into it.

I’m a lover of the political romance since I do live in DC so I’m a fan of this whole idea! Enjoy!!

MICHELLE’S REVIEW

Wow. Kristen Ashley is queen. The end.

Jk. I have more to say about her latest book – THE DEEP END.

First of all- for die hard KA fans- this is different. This is a BDSM focused book and therefore it’s got some erotic stuff and some stuff you’ve probably never seen from KA. And because she’s kick ass- this is about a female Domme.

Now, if you’re worried about a male submissive (we know KA excels at alphas) don’t you worry. Olivier (aka Olly aka the beast) is 100% Alpha outside of the scene. While he is a sub in the BDSM arena- he never completely let’s go of his Alpha tendencies.

I’ll admit this book took me a second to get into but once I was in- I was in. For me it was mostly about the connection between Amelie and Olivier. It was so intense and so different in a lot of ways. But at the core of it – no matter what happens in the bedroom- this is about how people are vulnerable when it comes to love and I think that’s he best part. It’s really a love story at the end of the day.

Because it’s KA there are pieces of mystery within the story and overall I found those interesting but there were a few loose ends I was still curious about. Perhaps those will be answered in other books in the series.

Overall- I recommend this books because it’s just a good one. It may not be classic KA but it has those elements we love- alpha male, sexy times, strong female lead and an entertaining story line.

EXCERPT

At that moment, for the first time in years, she was paying no attention to Stellan.

This was because Talia’s tall frame shifting out of the way offered an unhindered view of something else that had slipped in without her notice.

And gazing at him, Amélie went still.

As did her breath.

And her heartbeat.

Leaning a shoulder against the wall beyond the edge of the bar, six or seven feet from the door to the playrooms, he was surveying the scene as if he wasn’t part of it.

Or as if it was he who was on the prowl.

But although a Dominant could mingle freely in the open space, this would be done with some intent.

If they were on the hunt, they’d be at a booth.

Subs were not allowed to sit in a booth unless the invitation was extended. They populated the floor, on display, it was requisite.

In the mesh of bodies, a sub could be identified in a variety of ways. The cast of their gaze. Their bearing. Jewelry that declared their status.

And their position in the hunting ground.

No Dominant would linger there like he was, partially for that reason. Clear communication and transparent messages were key in their world. No Dom would give the impression of being a sub.

This was explained at length during membership orientation.

That magnificent beast was a sub.

An alpha-sub, assuredly.

It came from his sheer size, like a cloak stitched to his skin he had no hope of shrugging off (not that he’d wish to).

He had to be six five, perhaps taller. His dark suit and mono-chromatic shirt necessarily tailored for his physique for there were very few men on this earth that had it. His shoulders as wide as a log. His chest a veritable wall. The muscles Amélie had no doubt were hidden under his clothing apparent in the exposed line of his throat. It wasn’t that he had no neck. But that lethal shank of corded, sinewy muscle could not be established and maintained if the rest of him didn’t match precisely.

She knew he was alpha beyond that. His stance at the wall, casual and self-assured, it was openly cocky. He knew his allure. He knew his beauty. He knew even if he wasn’t exactly your type, every being would understand with base instinct his attraction.

He also knew how to use this. All of it. It was his art as sure as reading it on him was Amélie’s.

From what she could tell, his hair was dark blond, the thickness of it, how it was longer at the top, clipped short at neck and ears was so appealing, she was willing to make that single allowance for she preferred her toys to have dark hair.

She made that allowance, but if she had her way, and she often did, he’d grow it longer so there’d be more of it to fist her fingers into as a means to use to make him serve her will.

His facial features only heightened his appeal that already, with the rest of him, defied belief.

A strong brow over eyes she couldn’t see the color of from her distance. Hollowed cheeks under high cheekbones and over a firm, cut, clean-shaven jaw. And a large nose that was openly pugilistic, the dent at the top of the bridge not created by God but by a break that he didn’t deem important enough to have set properly.

Staring at him, utterly incapable of not doing it openly, she felt the insides of her thighs tingle. And her nipples were hard buds, the restriction of the lace of her bra suddenly excruciating.

That…

Now that was whisky.

“Oh my, Leigh, are you seeing what I’m seeing?” Mirabelle asked. And before she could answer, her friend went on, “It’s like he was made for you.”

It was, indeed.

Kristin Ashley - headshotAbout Kristen Ashley:

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing’s changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.
